Today involved driving and walking. Lots of both. Oh, and heat. The trip from Vienna to Prague was always going to be long but some road works, terrible drivers and a lack of motorway meant it seemed longer than it should have. On the plus side we have discovered Czech Vegas, where you can gamble, see as many breasts as you want,go clubbing till the small hours and buy atriple sized plastic bull dog, all just past the Austrian border. We also got to see the wider Czech republc ( the non Prague bit)which is kind of like the UK except, to avoid traffic jams, white van drivers just go all the way across fields. Tonight's hotel is a boat. On the river. It's cool. We stayed here exactly a year ago today and were able to park right outside. Sadly they no longer have parking right outside and only a multistorey. Jason can't do anything under ground or up a level as he's just to tall. Cue more driving and by a stroke of luck a free parking space just over the bridge. After a very quick stop we set off for a wander, first for a Thai meal which was lovely ( although tough man Leary thought it would be good to try the chilli sauce.....it wasn't, he's still recovering now!) Then a walk. A very very long walk which seemed longer with the heat. Finally after a bit of help from Simon ( who likes us again, yay) we got to the square, watched the disappointment in the faces of all the people gathered round who think the clock does something on the hour ( it doesn't!) And found somewhere for (yet another) drink. Even at eight at night it was still 32 degrees but we still thought it would be a good idea to walk ALL the way along the river back to the hotel. At this point I can safely say it wasn't. At all. But we made it back to the boat all ready for a drink or two on the deck watching the sunset and bed, the last bit of refinement for a couple of days....next stop a field in Germany for a festival
