Paige, Liam & Uncle Vince
This was at lunch on Saturday. Although both were fighting and/or getting over colds, everyone was in good spirits. I do not know what it is but I love this city. It is by far my favorite city and I had no real reason to visit other than I just love it. I headed out Thursday early from work to visit Prague. I was hoping to get there before sunset, but did not make it. It did not matter as I still love this city no matter what season or time of the day.
I landed right on time and my taxi that I scheduled was waiting with my name. We headed to the botel, which is a hotel on the water. I have never stayed in/on one before and the price was right so I booked this online some time ago. From the outside, it looked fine and even after I got to my room, I was pleasantly surprised. I wish now I would have paid a little extra money for a room with a view as oppose to the of the parking lot, but I was only there one night. The way they had this one anchored to the shore, it did not rock or even move so you would never know you were staying on a
Botel
I have never stayed in a botel, but here was my first. It was nothing too exciting to write home about, but it was fine. The way they had it anchored to the shore, you would never know you were on the boat. boat. The rooms were a little small, but honestly, for European hotels, it was not bad.
Once I got checked in, I skipped dinner to head to Charles Bridge and Old Time Square. Yes, I have plenty more pictures, but these are some that highlighted the sights I so much enjoyed. I could just sit there on the Charles Bridge taking it all in and watching the Prague Castle on one side and looking down the river on the other side. Even with all of the people there, it is still awesome to me.
I have to say, I had great weather. They had been calling for rain, but it was 40oF (4oC) to 50oF (10oC) and overcast to sunny the entire time so no complaints from me. After I took some pictures and just took it all in, I did some wondering around and tourist shopping as I walked towards my hotel. I ended up stopping in a couple of bars and got a bite to eat and something to drink. I knew I wanted to get up the next morning and do so me more daylight sightseeing so I did not make it a late one
Botel Room
No, I did not have a good view from my room as I selected the cheap room. on Thursday.
On Friday, I had breakfast and headed out to see the same things again, but during the day. I love it most at night, but still very much enjoy the city during the day. I have been enough times, I did not schedule any tours, but just did my own walk and more walking tour. I found a nice little cafe for lunch where I could see the River, Charles Bridge and the Castel. Shopped a little more as I headed back to the hotel for my pickup to the airport.
From Prague I headed to Frankfurt to visit Jetta, Patrick, Paige and Liam. I did not realize this, but when I arrived, Jetta tells me it may be a little stressful as Pat is getting to be in the field for an extended period of time. She did not want to tell me this before for fear I might not want to come. I am so glad I did make the trip as it made the time even more worth while. I did not see much of Pat as he was getting ready, but we had a little time in the evenings and then on
Botel
A picture of the botel during the day. Sunday before I left.
The kids were fighting colds so they were not feeling their best, but really everyone acted fine under the circumstances. Had Jetta not told me, I am not sure I would have known. On Saturday, I helped Liam put together his Bioniticals (sp?). They were not as easy as they looked, but once they were finished, I have to say they looked pretty good. On Sunday morning before everyone got up, Liam and I played dinosaurs in bed.
With the kids not feeling well, they all decided to stay home while Jetta took me to the airport, but once I realized they only had a few weeks together before Pat left, I offered to take the train back, but everyone with me to the train station to see me off. I have to admit, I do not like changing trains but everything worked out well and I got to the airport right on time.
I flew a Russian airline called S7, which I had not heard of, but it was looked like it was in good order when I got on, even though that may have been too late if it did not
Prague Castle
I do not know what it is, but I love this place! look safe. We left ontime and even got into Moscow early. Thank goodness I flew into DME, which is so much better than SVO. It is newer, cleaner, and the people that work there seem so much more friendly. I was about four deep in Passport control, but got through fairly quickly and Misha was outside waiting for me. I am going to miss him once he resigns. I am not sure if I have him trained or he has me trained, but we know each other well.
I do not know about anyone else, but I love Prague and if you have not been, I would highly recommend it! The "traveling frog" out until my next trip.

Beautiful pictures!
Such beautiful pictures - again! I can't imagine how many hundreds or thousands of pictures you've taken since you've been there but thanks for sharing them with us! I saw Margaret Burton a couple of weeks ago. She was doing an audit in one of our plants and I was there for a customer cutting. It was nice seeing her again and, of course, we talked about you and your amazing travels!
