The earliest possible train to Prague left at 5:05am on Saturday morning. When it was creeping up on 2:00am, we knew that we needed to get at least “some” sleep before we all met in the lobby at 4:00am to take a taxi to the train station. We have had such great luck with the trains wherever we go….I shouldn’t speak too soon! The train to Prague from Vienna was not crowded at all, and it we converted one of the private rooms into a dark bat cave, and managed to get another 4 hours of much needed sleep. Once you cross over the border from Austria into Czech Republic, ever sign and train car turns from “recognizable” German to Czech, and the train announcer even starts talking Czech as well, which sounds even more confusing than German. While fast asleep in our train car, the border patrol came aboard and woke us up for our passports. It is neat to see the pages fill up with stamps from the countries that we cross into. Once in the Prague train station, we walked for a longggg time and finally found our way into the Old town center, which was filled

Germany played Czech in soccer that night. There we lots of crazy German guys Yelling all over in the central square with tons of tourists, police officers, and half marathon runners. This weekend was the Prague half marathon, and it was neat to see the runners start on the famous Charles Bridge and run through the city. The architecture in the city is absolutely amazing. Some parts feel like you are in the set of a Disney Theme park, with the high pointed steeples on churches.
I was very excited to go to Prague because I had always heard about the cheap prices. First tip, get the currency before you go, and never get your money exchanged at a currency exchange company. It cost me a whole 15 euros just to make the transaction! After my somber mood, I got my camera case stolen an hour later! By this time, I was the most frustrated that I have been yet while here in Europe. That only lasted a couple of minutes.
The weather on Sunday was great, and the sun was out for most of the day. There were nine of us from the
GO DRAKE
nice picture of the drake crew FH University that had breakfast together. It was my first pancakes since leaving the states, and it tasted amazing (except they don’t go heavy on the syrup). We went through the Jewish ghetto, and saw the burial grounds, shopped for souvenirs and walked through the Prague castle. During this trip we ran into many people who were from the States, and it was fun comparing our adventures.
