well day 1 basically in being able to actually see things and do stuff. nice firm mattresses at eh hostle..we slept like logs....slept from 8pm to 9 am here....finally woak up grizz and got some breakfast..nice selsction..heavy on carbs of course...great cheese tho and oj and nutella to be had....the strawberry dannon yogurt was awesome tasting....i think everything must taste better here cuz i drank a whole mug of dark beer adn loved it at u flecku bar! so its just america where stuff tastes bleh...as i expected.
anyway got going about 10am.......walked all over gods green earth i swear! but feel much better and feet dont hurt now only 20 minutes back in our beds as i write this...
trams are fun in otehr languages......luckily we ask people and point to where we need to go...and only 2 times we went way past the stop we needed..no worries....cross the street..wait for teh next one going the opposite way...good to go! bought the 3 day pass....so all subway, bus, tram is included....just jump on and go...seems we could not bought a ticket also...but they say they come round and check sometimes..so were golden if that happens.
so went
to the charles bridge...saw at least 3 or 4 churches..including st.vitus cathedral.....for free! they wanted to charge us 600 cz to see the church and the palace with a audio guide....man i just couldt pay that so we went by ourselves adn listend in on the english tours near us in spots.....good enough adn free! besides..we saw it all...just watch the episode of rick steves and he can explain all the important parts in his video....win!
went to the train station as well to check prices on tickets to kutna hora.....a 1 hour away town with a chapel decorated with the bones of plague victims....5 bucks for a ticket there....god bless post communist countries!!
oh and i gotta say...america better get with it...these electric trams all over the town and out into the countryside...awesome...and ya stand in the back.....not here..someone would fall and sue someone..here..they have what is called common sense....i hope america gets some soon adn starts doing something about our lack of public transportation...even in anotehr language this is easy...and its electric.....love it.
so tired..heres some pics. new hostle in the old town center tomorrow..cheaper...and where all the bars are....gona try and see the clementinum
library..with all the medieval manuscripts saved and displayed by the monks.....heard a rumor its closed for repairs....i will cry if it is..man....lets hope its open!
