Today after breakfast at the hotel, I headed into Dubrovnik’s old town to determine if I was able to join the Game of Thrones tourthat morning. Luckily, I was able to join the morning tour.

Some of the Game of Thrones filming locations on the tour included:

1. The Jesuit Stairs – The location of Cersei’s Walk of Shame

2. Fort Lovrijenac: Various scenes including where Sansa almost gets raped in Kings Landing and the Hound saves her, the “Knowledge is Power, Power is Power scene”, and the kings’ tournament for Joffrey’s name day

3. Minceta Tower: The House of the Undying

4. Gradac Park: The Purple Wedding Celebration

5. West Harbour: used in various scenes including Blackwater Bay and the wildfire scene, and where Sansa and Shae are talking on the dock before Littlefinger shows up to tell Sansa he’s got an escape plan for her

6. Pile Gate: Used on multiple occasions including the scene where the mob attacks Joffrey

The tour guide worked on the Game of Thrones set so she knew the inside scoop on Game of Thrones information. I recommend the tour to anyone

Grgić Vina

After the tour, Drea and I headed to Grgić Vina for some wine on the back patio. The winery is located in Trstenik, which is about a 45-minute to an hour drive from Dubrovnik. Drea, Renata and I also went to the other Grgich Winery in Napa, “Grgich Hills Estate” about 2 years ago. The owner of both wineries, Mijenko Grgich was known as the “King of Chardonnay.” His most exalted contribution came in 1976 when his Chardonnay as a winemaker of Chateau Montelena bested the top wines from France in the famous Judgement of Paris blind tasting.

After soaking in the winery's views, we returned to the hotel in Dubrovnik. After dinner, it was time to call it a night. Tomorrow will be a lazy pool day and then dinner reservations at Prora Beach Restaurant at Hotel Excelsior. Until then!
