Up early - well we were. Everyone else strolled out of bed after 10, 11 etc. Phoned Anton and he arranged to drop of the key at 11.30 and true to his word the key arrived. I had already nipped out and got some fresh bananas and bread.
We were on our way out when Anton gave us the key so we just popped down to check the key worked and we could get into the Gym. Looks very nice, nice boxing bag fixed to the roof, table tennis table with bats and balls, cycle, weight machine and cross trainer. Changing rooms have been provided as well and I think I can see where the Sauna will go.
Then we drove over to Dobrinishte and uptowards Bezbog hut where we are going to get the cable car at the Gotse Delchev Chalet. Nice easy drive out of Dobrinishte the road is good and even though you rarely get out of second gear you feel comfortable driving. We arrived at the chalet and worked out what we were going to carry as once on the cable there was no turning back. Cameras seemed like a good idea, as did some
water.
Then onto the cable car - one of the old fashioned jump on and ride. Great. 13 lev for there and back. About a 25 minute ride upto Begboz Hut. Nice views - would be great on a clear day but there was quite a haze so we took what pictures we could. Wandered around the lake at the top - it is very clean and the air is fresh. Then it was back down on the cable car
. Great ride - took more pictures but again haze, rain didn't help. Was a real experience getting on and off the lift...
Had a great picnic outside the Gotse Delchev Chalet - they really lay things out well - barbecue if you want it, hut with tables, electricity and lights. They don't seem to mind if you use the toilets in the Hotel - we bought a couple of coffees - 1 lev each! Really nice as well.
Then we drove back into Dobrinishte and went to the
Alpha Spa and Pool - for 7 lev you can spend all day in here - again with blisteringly fast free WiFi. Wouldn't happen in the UK.
Spent a
couple of hours swimming around enjoying the spa pool - think I'd be really really wrinkly if I spent all day in here. Then back to the Nannerys apartment. You see all sorts in Bulgaria, they were herding cows through the streets - single cows - and the odd goat or 2. At the same time an articulate lorry had been diverted down a road with low hanging electric cables, so it was backing up a street across 2 others while cars tried to go past it! So when we got back we chilled for a bit before going out to eat. Went to
Angels - very near, very nice.
Then back, a bit of blogging and video editing and charging of equipment as we are off to Greece tomorrow. Jennifer awaits.
