Now I knew this was the case before I left home.. But now they are even striking me in Europe! What did I do to deserve this?! haha.. I finally went to a restaurant that had hot waiters, and oh yes, one was definately flirting with me, offered himself as dessert (hehe) AND left me a little note on the bill... The night before I left Rome.. Where is the fairness in that?! haha been whinging this whole time about unwanted attention and now I finally get wanted attention and its the day before I leave.. So not fair!! DAmm why didnt I go into that restaurant on my first night?! Why cant I catch a break in this department??
Ok now back to the travelling, considering this is my TRAVEL blog hehe.. Arrived in Brussels after an hour delay on my flight (again, timing, whats with that?!), my hotel seems to be in a brilliant location, not far from quite a few sights and right near the train station that I need to get to on Saturday in order to get to Munich so so far, all seems good, finding a place to eat tonight though was abit of
a bitch as everything was in French and very little is in English.. its worse than being in France! only got 2 days here in Brussels so they are gonna be jam packed, not to mention I found a laundry so will definately do that and still planning to spend one day going out to Bruge.. Definately going to be busy busy busy!!
Must say too I am very impressed with Brussels airport, Brussels is said to be the new hub to Europe and the airport definately reflects the amount of traffic that must go through it.. I'd dare say it is bigger than Singapore Airport, although Singapore does have more terminals from what i can see, and in my opinion, it, being Brussels airport, is much more impressive than what I saw of Heathrow.. I was disappointed with HEathrow but Brussels.. WOW..
Now Rome airport on the other hand.. Dodgy!! On arriving in Brussels, it wasnt until I reached my hotel that I noticed that someone has cut the locks off one of my outside compartments on my suitcase.. The zip is completely missing! Now I know this was done deliberately because it looked exactly the same as my old suitcase did when Cal broke into after my wallet got nicked in Dublin.. So great, now Im going to have to get the bloody thing wrapped for my last 3 flights.. On the plus side, nothing was missing and it doesnt look like anything was put in it either although I guess I'll never know..
Spent my first full day here in Brussels first going to the train station to book my seats to Muncih on Saturday as most German trains especially have compulsory reservations.. Im now taking a different route than the one from the Eurail train timetable book AND the internet.. Guess you were right Brad, they do do it all for u! hehe..
Jumped aboard a hop on bus as usual.. Very disappointed in this as there was barely any commentary and when there was it definately didnt match up to what you were seeing, afterwards went and visited the Gorte Market or Grand Place which is very impressive and the Manniken Pis, the national monument here in Belgium.. Not going to tell you what this is.. just wait till I can get the photos on.. Words cant describe how funny it is, you gotta see it to believe it! Went on the hunt for the comic museum, a musem dedicated to comics.. was hoping to find garfield but the weather had different ideas and once I was halfway here a torrential rainstorm soon put an end to that.. I havent seen rain like that in years!! It was incredible, although 2 hours later and its still going and I have things to do dammit!! haha.. most importantly my washing!! Maybe I should just hang it out the window!
