maybe it was just that we were coming from the glorious city of Paris and had been left with high expecatations to match what we had left behind, but Brussels was ummm.....well, it left something to be desired...mostly hand sanitizer!

(by the way, i can be a little more descriptive now as we are in Amsterdam and "home row" is in its proper place 😊 )

the train ride from paris to brussels was awesome. we were served a light lunch and some drinks. i was unable to take pictures from the train as it went so freaking fast and i have a camera with the shutter speed only comparable to a snail crossing montgomery roads. (for those of you who know why i'm moving, you know what i mean).

brussels was hectic from the moment we got there. our travel book described it as culturally diverse and warned of gypsies carrying babies with fake arms while they sift through your pockets with the real one. needless to say, we went in a little paranoid. the train station was hectic and busy. we bought metro tickets only to discover the metro is a free for all and you don't *need* to pay to ride (by the way, our passports or train tickets were never check whilst in the country of belgium until the HOTEL receptionist made copies in Antwerp) As Brussels is the capital of the European Union, you could tell security was a priority-ha! 😊

We had some Belgian beers and chocolate and then were happily back on the train and on to Antwerp.
