Delicious sausage fest & beer stand
Ken has been dreaming about the Austrian sausages FOREVER The great joy about Europe for us (among many other things of course!) is that you are so close to everything!
Budapest is only 3 hours from Vienna....and that meant we just HAD to pop in to visit Markus. Markus for those of you that won´t know: is an old family friend of ours that has been coming to visit South Africa and the Hooper family for the past 12 years. He is passionate about SA and there was no way we could get so close and not visit him.
Dad, Markus even has my old 'Red Bomber´, Mazda Midge CA number plate in his lounge!
We had been to Vienna years ago (Bee, Ange,Grant & Lou...remember that Christmas and New Years?) and so there was zero pressure to do the touristy things.
Markus of course was a great host and kept on asking what we wanted to see.
Him alone was the answer....and perhaps a bit of beer, bratwurst and those damn good kaasgriller hotdogs for Ken.
It was 3 days of laid back visting. Meeting Markus´s folks (as despite him being part of our extended family for so long, and even staying in their home all those
Markus outside Tom Taylor
Looking cool outside his 2nd store years ago) we had never met them.
We loved our time with him, seeing him in action at his Tom Taylor stores (see Markus, I am doing a little business promotion here for you!) and just recharging our batteries!
All three of us kept on saying that we wished that we had not waited so long before coming to visit him.
So silly how caught up we got in London.
Just a 2 hours flight between us, we really could have seen so much more of each other.
Angie, your turn now....make sure you and Nick visit and enjoy the great Austrian hospitality.
Thank you Markus!
Three days later and it was time for Slovenia........................
