I'm back after the longest week I've had here up until now. Last friday at 10:00pm I left in a bus with a bunch of kids from the Ski Club and headed out to Kaprun Austria. It took about 8 hours or so we got there at 9 there next morning. The hotel was aweful for those who might have an idea of the conditions of most hotels in Hampton Beach N.H well it was bad. But I guess it was a youth hostile we where staying in it still wasn't the best. The whole place was freezing and it was grudgy and well not great. The food to tell you about it it was like the simpsons' cafiteria food. Just plaine gross. Fries and potatos with the box mixture everything fried and done up really quickly.
The hotel was also in the middle of nowhere which made the time even worst but to be in nature I guess we where and well it was okay with the bunch of little kids but for me it was long. I'm so happy my mom told me to bring a book. The adults didn't speak to me all that much and hardly ever
the bed was aweful and the little lamp dusty
told me what was going on which was really fustrating. I made friends with a few younger ids which was good but they sorta got annoying at times. What I like is that with the little kids which talked alot I learned severa new words which is very good. . In the morning we would have breakfeast at 7:00 and at 8:00 we would get on the bus and go down the hill to the moutain and take a first lift which got us part way up the moutain then another and a 3rd one finally.
The views where incredible Austria is so beautiful I definitely want to go back. But as for skiing most of you might know after my little incident a few years back I'm not so fond of skiing anymore. But the first day I and another girl had one of the adults who is really good and has taken several courses over the years and worked as a trainer in his younger days train us. It got me back into shape and I was able to get comfortable again with skiing although I'm still caustious of my speed. on the fourth day he let me
go with another group which made it funner for me since everyone was good and we would go down all the hills and not only the small ones. At Lunch time we weather went up at the top completely or stated down a level lower. Both places offered incredible views. But 6 days of skiing I found a little long and on the fifth day I had to fate sick I was so tired and my muscels hurt every where soI stayed at the hotel and read all day pretty much got through my book. Usually we would get meet in the middle of the hill at 3:30 in the afternoon and everyone would go down after that. Since the bottom of the hill did not have snow. when we got back to the hotel we usually would take a shower and play outside until 6:30 or do whatever until supper time two times in the week I got to go to town. which changed my mind a little it wasn't a really big place but nicer then alll the nature and trees although it's very beautiful I felt really lonely. then I usually would go off to my room
or play with a few of the kids.
The skiing part went well. I didn't break a leg or anything which is great for me but on the last afternoon at around 2:00. One of the girls from the ski club got ran into by another person really hard and she is hospitalized. They brought the Helicopter out and got her to the hospital as soon as possible. She is doing well apparently just brused really badly in the face and mouth and nose area and her ribs. It brought back old memories of when I had my leg broken.
The first day we were there on sunday morning the weather was perfect the snow was soft and not a single cloud in the sky around us. We where above all the clouds. on monday all was good and the snow was alright it just had turned hard during the night but by the middle of the day it became wet so all was fine. But on tuesday morning the temperature was really cold and it was raining which was really unpleasent and when we were at the complete top 3029 meters in altitude it was a
icy snow which fell from the sky we could see no further then the person infront of us and the mountains around had disappeared into the sky. The rest of the week was alright usually in the morning was hard icy snow and by lunch time it was wet. The clouds sometimes would cover the mountains in the distance and we could only see the green grass below. I cannot say that one day sent in the mountains was the same as the other. Although they where somewhat similar the weather high up in the glacieres is unpredictable.
I'm starting to miss Home more and more day the day sometimes it's the food I miss other times it's my family and friends. Or going shopping at the mall since here it's only little shops.
as for Austria I really am going back the beautiful moutains won over my heart everything is absolutely wonderful and the little churchs are so cute as well as the houses so typical of a fairy tale. At least all which I saw. The land did not decieve me Although the trip itself could have went
