Saltzburg View
View over Saltzburg from the castle The train was passing through Salzburg, but not terminating there so we had to be careful to make sure that we woke up in time. We didn’t, but luckily the train was running late and we hadn’t missed our stop. The train still arrived at some ungodly hour in the morning, so everyone settled down in the station for another kip until the sun came up. The station was literally covered with inter-railers.
Salzburg was a beautiful city, set in the heart of the beautiful Austrian countryside. Like Vienna, there were photo opportunities everywhere. The dominant feature in the city is a large castle on top of a huge hill. We were too tight to pay for the cable car, which would take you all the way up to the castle, so we had to walk. And it was a long hard walk, but worth it in the end as the views were fantastic.
Wandered round town for a while longer and then got a train to Innsbruck. The scenery on the way was out of this world. We spent most of the journey gaping out of the windows and taking pictures. Upon arrival, we all went our separate

The approach to the castle ways and I caught a another train to Florence.
Getting very used to responding to the calls for "Passporte, Passporte", whenever I cross a border, without actually waking up. In fact for sometime after I got back to England, if there was any sort of noise at night, I found myself subconsciously rummaging around for my passport. inter-railing can leave you psychologically scarred for life, as well as one hell of a lot thinner.
