Tuesday we crawled out of bed after being awoken all night by screaming roosters. Best part is we now had CLEAN CLOTHES to wear that were not long pants and long sleeve shirts. We rented mountain bikes, trading a pile of bike parts that Joe bought along for the normally 20 CUC rental fee. At the rental place we met 2 Mark’s, one from Australia (Ozzy Mark) and one from the Czech Republic (Check Mark). We teamed up and rode out of town to explore the Cueva de Indio, a massive cave with an underground river that you explore by boat. Then we rode across muddy trails thru tobacco and corn fields surrounded by mountains where a horse wrangler helped us thru a mud lake. He took us to meet a picturesque tobacco farmer who gave us a major cigar technology lesson, and CheckMark bought some cigars. We continued on to Mirador a beautiful lookout spot. Robin and I climbed a monster hill on the other side of the valley for a view, and got the bikes back by 6:20PM as it was getting dark.
We had a nice dinner with both Marks.
