This was in Ana Lucia's Uncles pool
Erin, me, Shirley and Ana Lucia R (two Guatemalan Students) headed to Reu to stay at the finca of one of the other Guatemalan students (Ana Lu).

After getting up at 4:50am Friday morning to help with a delivery (I delivered a
the placenta, I am so proud sniff...!) we were dragged out dancing with Ana Lu! Of course we had a fantastic time in an Alfred Hitchcock themed bar, pretty bizarre! We met some of Ana Lu´s boyfreind´s friends most of them pilots for the Guatemalan Air Force. They got a bit over excited when they clapped eyes two white girls! Any single girls looking for an ego boost and a good time, come to Guatemala! Needless to say mucho whisky and dancing was involved!

The next morning we were allowed a lie-in while the home students went to classes at 7am (the students are worked so hard here, I am never going to complain about a 4 O´clock lecture on a Thursday again!!!

We set off for Reu at 12ish, Guatemalan style with four girls squeezed in the back of a Yaris. We were driven by Ana Lu´s driver after her family had had some problems

All hombres, being bred for meat (carne)
with members being kidnapped a few years ago, which seems scarily common amoung the students and their families here. After a bum numbing three hours drive, we arrived in the baking heat to a massive lunch prpared by Ana Lu´s amazing family. The chocolate covered almonds we had brought her parents were a big melted mess, but they didn´t seem to mind! After lunch we swam in her uncle´s pool.

After a cat nap, we were off partying again at a nightclub literally in the middle of nowhere. It was enormous and really plush, lots of cool tiles and ceiling fans. They had a massive dance competition, proper partners salsa. Then came our turn with some dirty reggaeton. The beat is amazing, you can´t help but shake it!

In the morning (after a 3am bedtime), we were woken at 7am to go to the farm and see the cows. Ana Lu´s dad has a herd of 200, managed by proper cow boys. All the cows were mle and being raised for beef. We got to ride on some of the horses the cowboys use, although as you can see, I seem to have the wrong size horse and

Yet another example of Guatemalans disreguard for road saftey, four of us travelled in the back of a Yaris for three hours, talk about numb bums!
