Today marks the 7th day that Aimee and I have been traveling around Costa Rica. It's really weird... it doesn't feel like it's been a week already but when we sit back and think about all of the different places that we've been to and what we've seen... it seems like way more than a week!

Waking up this morning was surprisingly easy, thank goodness! Aimee and I made it on our 6:45am shuttle to Arenal. We spent over 4 hours on the shuttle but we met two really nice girls from Northern Idaho! They weren't sure where they were going to be staying and Aimee suggested that they come with us and they did! Yay!

The drive to Arenal was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Our driver was super nice too and he would stop whenever it was a really nice lookout point so that we could take pictures!

The place that we're staying at is super nice too! It has a pool... hammocks... a restaurant that serves beer and sells cigarettes... beach chairs lining the pool... internet... Aimee sat down by the pool today with me and said "i'm so glad we didn't come here first! If we did... we probably would never have left! It's got everything! We don't ever have to leave!!!" And all for $15 a night! Granted... Aimee and I are sleeping in a mixed dorm room in bunk beds but hey! It's all good 😊 Actually, I am going to be sleeping on the top bunk and for a few hours I kept telling Aimee how funny it was going to be watching me attempt to climb to the top... then I realized they have ladders haha... it won't be as funny now! haha

Today has been quite the lounging day! We are both still pretty exhausted since we only got less than like 3 hours of sleep last night! We had yummy food for dinner tonight... comida tipica! It's like a mix of a bunch of stuff but it's quite good! Over dinner and card playing I think Aimee and I decided we were going to try to see if we can squeeze in one more city before we head to a city that's closer to the airport. The original plan was to stay here until it was time to move on but we are going to see about leaving a night early and spending it at Monteverde! We shall see! Figures though... as soon as I get around to putting the updated google map up Aimee wants to add another place and change the map again! haha I think she really does just want to make more maps!

Tomorrow is exciting! Aimee and I are going to do this tour that includes rappelling down 5 cliffs/waterfalls! Neither of us has ever done this before so it should be fun to watch 😊 Scary... but definitely fun! 😊

By the way... the volcano is AWESOME! It's actually an active volcano and so there is lava that flows and you can take a lava tour at night to go see it. We aren't going to do it (we've heard most of the scary/deadly bugs/animals come out at night so it's much more dangerous to be hiking around the volcano at that time!) but it DID release steam earlier today! Our hostel is on the side of the volcano that doesn't spew lava so we can only see the steam. I'm thinking that's ok though 😊

... as I am typing this... a small lizard of some sort just crawled across the wall in front of me haha!
