Taking the taxi to the bus station we took a collectivo to Managua and we got dropped off at the bus station to take a connecting bus to Granada, a good 1 hour away. We got dropped off at the plaza and we walked to find the Bearded Monkey, when we arrived there the young Canadian loverboy from last nite and his friend was there just checking in, they left hours before us but they did the longer way. we all looked at each other and had a laugh about last night. He apologised later to us, thankfully they are on another dorm. We checked out the town, it was quite hot during the day and relief was at night when the breeze comes but it rained as well. Had a few beersd and then turned in, Joey and Pedro as usual went out for the nite and I went straight to bed, in our dorm is a retired dude from Nova Scotia with a Costa Rican gril doing a visa run for the weekend here then back to San Jose, he had lots os stories to tell, quite a nice guy, there also was a couple of good looking Danish
girls we chatted with, they go to school in Buenos Aires in March maybe i meet them there.
The next day we decided to do a day trip to Masaya a town in between Granada and Managua, only 20 minutes away but we ended up walking another 20 minutes to get to the heart of town from the highway where we got dropped off. We went to the artesania place and to the local market where Pedro bought a sandalias. It is hot but cloudy and on our walk back to the highway it rained. Arriving in Granada we stayed in the hostel and have a siesta then drinks at night and chatted with fellow travellers. We went out for the night, had a few beers at this loud bar, and sat at a bar called Nectars, before we left i went to the toilet and when i came back the boys were laughing as they have the weirdest experience, apparently a transvestite
wanted to sit with them and strike up a conversation, When Joey said we just paid our bill and are leaving soon, the dude tried to kiss Joey in the cheek! If the boys werent so

LAST DAY TOGETHER AT BEARDED MONKEY HOSTEL attractive then we would not have these problems!
Another hot day, the guy sleeping in the floor in our dorm, the hostel is full but lets people sleep in floors, this guy snored so loud it was annoying, but slept through most of it coz i was tired. After breakfast and quick internet, I left Joey and Pedro to do my own thing, walked around town and checked out the churches everywhere, i was so hot so came back to the hostel after 2 hours, met a strange fellow on the street when this local found out I was from Filipinas he talked about Manny Pacquiao to no end and then told me his sad story, he lives in the north coast where they have plenty of seafood but cant export it properly, he said he tried to do business in Costa Rica but they wont give him visa and his stuff was left at the border if I could spare some money to help him, i quickly made excuses and left.
Met the girls, err guys(Joey and Pedro) hanging out in the hostel, had a few beers as usual then siesta. The boys discovered my blog so

FLOR DE CANA i have to write good about them from now on. Had dinner near the plaza again on calle calzada, young boys asking me for food from my plate while i eat, not really pleasant experience, i told them to wait as I am not done yet, it happens a lot here and I dont know where i should stand, help them or ignore them. there was an event happening in the square with fireworks and bandas playing, some poet thing i think. we got back to The hostel and just relax. That eve we also met the guy who does the Bizarre foods thing on the Food Network, the bald fat guy, yeah thats him, we wonder what weird food he will try in Granada, perhaps pupusas, yuck!! In the plaza there is some thing going on, something to do with Poetry, we were not really interested but seems like a big night with fireworks, we listened to some poetry being read in the streets and thats all we managed to catch in this event.
On our last night in Granada, we just chilled at the hostel and had a few drinks together, went to bed ad got woken
up again by the biker dude's loud snoring, he slept on the floor . I got woken up some more by loud thud on the door next to the snoring guy, I thought what idiot would try and get through there at night when everyone knew we shut it for privacy in the dorm and that the door facing the yard is open, it happened twice, only in the morning did i realize it was Pedro doing the thumping, trying to wake up the snorer dude so he would turn and sleep on his side! Still cursing in the eraly morning, Pedrito too us to the bus station for Rivas, himself leaving the same day for San Jose, he claimed he knew where it was but of course we got lost again, having a really bad sense of direction our dear Brazilian friend for the last time managed to get us lost, but we managed to find it and make the 11:20am bus, bidding him goodbye we set off to Rivas and Isla Ometepe.
