So trailing on from yesterday, me and Flo went to meet Martin at the main square and we went to grab a bite to eat and we went to La Roca Resturant and the was a party there with guys in cowboy hats and a band playing traditional instruments. I had a vegetalbe enchilada, Flo had a burger and fries and Martin had something that looked like shish kehab.
We all had a beer and chatted for a while and then Martin said his goodbyes and me and Flo eaded back to the hotel and we chatted and watched Fight Club on Tv, eventually we turned in and half way through the night i woke up and noticed it was cold and i went to get the blanket in the room and Flo was using it.....doh.
I went back to sleep and then later got woken by outside noise and when i got up i had a bad stomach again but worse then any other time, i took some tablets i had but i had a headache and was nauseus, Flo then woke up and we vegged and watched a little TV at first and then i showered and
we headed to the main part of town and found a store with over the counter drugs and i bought some pepto bismol, while in there we bumped into an american lady who was a doctor and she suggested an antibiotic to clear my stomach up, but its sunday and the chemist was closed. Then me and Flo grabbed some sweet bread for breakfast and some water and Flo grabbed a coffee.
We then walked the 1km to Copan Ruinas, at Copan they have tourist rates and then locals rates and the are tunnels there and those are extra (15 dollars entrance and extra 15 if you want to do the tunnels) and an extra 7 dollars for the museum and 60 dollars for a guide to take you round.
It was quite mild and rained a couple of times in the morning which was great as it was refreshing and made it easier to go round the site, it is an amzing mayan city and was well worth seeing and the were also many parrotts and other birds and butterflys, its just a shame that Honduras flora and forna is being slashed and burned for farm land.
After visitng the whole site for about 4 hours me and Flo went around the nature trail and then headed for the entrance, if it had been Tikal or Planeque then a think a whole day or two days may have been needed.
Flo bought some postcards and we met Martin at the entrance and he had been and come back to go through the musuem, the Cpan ticket allows you entry to further Ruins at Seplutra another 1.5km up the road and so we decided to go there and the ruins were ok there but just as grand as copan, but still cool to see both and in one part of the ruins the was an armed soldier, oh i fogot we walked by a police road block on the way to Copan.....lol, how many is that now....im thinking 8 road blocks.
After we finished up we got a tuk tuk back to Copan town, i forgot to mention in preivous blogs i have seen a tuk tuk in Nica and Costa Rica, but the is a whole fleet in copan and Copan as cheap hotels for back packers and 5 star hotels for big buck
US and European holiday makers.
We then went to look at getting out of Copan tomorrow as we all head to Gutemala tomorrow, i head to Florres and Flo to Concepion Las Minas and Martin is not sure yet were he will go, so we looked in a few travel agencys and after a tip from an American lady who owns the blue grill in Copan we went to Picammes and spoke to a dutch lady there called Jessica and so tomorrow i will go with Flo up to a certain point and then go to another town to get a direct bus to Peten and then a tuk tuk from there to Flores.
We grabbed something to eat in Picammes and i had a cheese baggutte so as not to have anything to heavy my stomach and a coke, Flo and Martin had Burritos and they were massive.
We then said our goodbyes again and we headed back to the hotel and me and Flo played a quick came of footie with a local kid and then we headed to the room to pack and we watched a movie and chilled out, i gave Flo one of my tops and he gave me a tshirt for a record label he knows that does reggae music which is cool, Flo and Martin are from Bavria in Germany and Martin is 41 and Flo just 22 and he travels when work dies down as he is a painter.
About 7.30 pm we headed to the square and met martin and headed to the internet cafe and then we will go for a chat and to chill out on our last night in Copan. tomorrow up at 6-6.30 ish am....ouch and Florres hopefully 7-8pm tomorrow, sorry the last few blogs have had very little pics but it takes a while on travelblog to upload and i have uploaded all my pics so far on picassa
