So after finishing up at the internet cafe, Me Flo and Martin met a French Candian woman and we went to the Blue Grill bar and had a few cervezas and chatted and chilled out to some live latin american music and after a little while the heavens opened and the was some serious rain coming down. We also chatted to the bar Owner Michelle who is American and has lived in German and the Cayman Isles but to name a few places and she was cool and knowledgable if you go to copan or you could speak to a dutch lady Jessica in Picammes resturant.
Anyway after a while we decided to go back to our hotels as we had an early start, Martin headed back to his place and me and Flo our place while running from the rain, we got and Flo decided to watch TV, i went to sleep as i was tired.
I woke up at about 5pm between a cockrell crowing and my stomach again, i dosed up again but my stomach was even worse than the day before and i could see it was going to be a tough day with my
stomach and the traveling. Flo eventually woke up and we got ready and met Martin at the square and we found a microbus going to the border and it was about 20 limperahs top the border and as all buss in Central America we had to wait for it to fill up and while waiting i changed some currency to Guatemala Quetzalas. we eventually set off and dropped and picked up people on the way. We eventually got to the border and it was a dollar out of Honduras and 3 dollars into Guatemala and the border was not busy at all?
We then grabbed some breakfast, i got some sweet breads so as not to upset my stomach with something too heavy etc and some water and Matrin and Flo bought some food too, we got a microbus from the Gutemala side of the border to Chiquimula nd it was about 3 dollars and stopped everywhere.....lol, it was raining in Honduras and around the border in Guetmala and it was misty and quite green.
In Copan and parts of Guetmala the older guys like to wear cowboy hats, anyway i digress we eventually got to Chiquimula and Martin and Flo asked if i wanted breakfast, i declined as we had been let off in a street that smelt of piss and shit and i wanted to make sure i got my connection to Peten, so we said our goodbyes and so far the Gutemala people seemed friendly as a chap helped me find the Rio Hondo bus.
I got to Rio Hondo which is a transfer area for buss´s and is nothing more than a cross roads with food stalls and one ticket office, i managed to sucessfully communicate to the driver that i needed to get off at Rio Hondo some my spanish is slighty better.....lol.
So i got to Rio Hondo at 10.20 am and i had to wait till 12 for my bus and the bus was 80 quetzals which is about 11 or 12 dollars. While there i spoke to a Hondurian guy about football the universal language..hehe.
The bus arrived and it was an old greyhound the journey was fairly uneventful. less stops than a chicken bus and eventually got to St Elena just before pm which is good going, when i got off i met eric and constatine, both from germany and eric is german and constantine is greek, i asked if they wanted to share a taxi and so we did and then we ended up at the same hotel which is about 10 dollars a night for a nice room, fan,tv.
i dumped my stuff and took a walk around florres with them and we chatted and we then went and eat at a lake side cafe and they have been in central america for 2 months and plan to live in the greek islands eventually.
We eventually said our goodbyes and i went and got some anti-biotics for my stomach and then watched some tv before bed.
Woke up this morning and my stomach was not great but it maybe takes a while for the drugs to kick in, i went for a walk and booked a sunrise tour for tikal some up at 3am tomorrow and i also booked a shuttle to San ignacio in Belize for wensday, the are ruins in San Ignacio so i will visit for maybe one day and then get a bus to the border and into Mexico were i visit mayan ruins in the Yuctan.
I looked around the souvenir shops this morning and i bumped into a dutch guy and we chatted and then he showed me a hostel which has good food so i may try it later.
Today will be a lazy day i think, i have bought some postcards to write and post home and i have washed some clothes and hung them out to dry.
Adios amigos
