Up at 6am today as usual. With a headache. Popped my usual pill mixture (ibuprofen, sudafed, sometimes omeprazole) & tried to sleep some more. I headed out & got us some breakfast. Geoff sounds terrible. Poor thing.
Sat out on the deck & ate our delicious breakfast with yummy coffee. A chocolate Americano. MMMM! For 90cents. Perfect price.
It's a beautiful clear blue sky day. We're going to walk around a bit & find a place on the lake to lay in the sun & be lazy today. My throat is a little scratchy so now I'm nervous.
There's a karaoke bar (we assume) right near us. We heard singing all afternoon yesterday. It's only 9am & they are already at it. It is cracking us up. The music & singing are terrible & the sound just carries from the water. It is too much. Who sings karaoke at 9am? We keep laughing about it. They're taking a break from it at the moment, which is lovely! My kazoo birds are following me too. They're out there singing as usual. I love those birds. I may have to see about one as a pet. They whistle & do their
kazoo sound. It's so cute.
We walked around town. It's a really cute little town. Most of the locals are Mayan & are dressed in their traditional clothing. It's crazy. The women carry everything on their heads. Even the kids carry baskets that way. Little kids. We've also seen people carrying heavy loads of wood on their backs with a strap attached across their forehead for support. Kinda makes me feel bad for complaining about my work... There is an outdoor market in the middle of town. We ventured through there. People selling everything: vegetables, chicken (various pieces & parts), fabric, food. It is quite the happening place.
All over San Pedro there are statements painted on the sides of buildings discussing Jesus & God. Things like: God is the boss of San Pedro. God is love. Etc, etc. These phrases were written on just about every building (& on the tuk tuks) in San Pedro. Definitely helps to keep it all in the forefront of your thoughts. The tuk tuks are all named. The front of each of them has a womans name. Geoff thinks it's the girlfriend/wife of the driver, I think it could be the

trying to avoid getting hit. (And look there's Jullissa!) name of the tuk tuk. I guess we should ask...
Lunch was at The Burritto Factory. It is run by an American guy & his food is good. I had nachos, the best I've had since we left home, & Geoff had a small burritto which took up the entire plate.
After lunch we headed back to the room since Geoff was feeling worn out. Geoff napped & I read. We just took it easy in hopes that we won't both get more sick than we are already feeling.
In the evening we headed back to The Alegre Pub & watched a movie on their big screen. True Grit. It was really good. It was fun to watch a movie. It's been weeks since I've watched a movie. We worked on our blog there. The wifi was super fast.
Headed home after the movie & slept. We're both feeling icky.....
