Waiting in the airport
So after 26 hours of traveling we finally arrived in Xela. Our host families were all waiting for us at the bus station. My friend Stephen and I are living with an older couple who has been hosting students for over 25 years now. Our house is not huge but it has everything we need. We are about a 20 minute walk away from the language school. On our first day here we had most of the day to explore the city on our own and learn how to get to some important places. We had lunch at a Taqueria near to the central park. Most of our meals will be at our houses though but we might get to eat out a few times a week. Today was our first day of class. We met at the school at 8 am and had about five hours of individual class with a teacher. We will normally get done with class each day at 1 and then have until 2:30 to go home and eat lunch. We then meet again for an afternoon activity with the rest of the group. We normally plan to eat dinner after 7 and this gives us

a good chance to talk with our families. After dinner I do some reading and homework until I go to bed.
