Well these past weeks...or week (i cant keep track anymore), have been fairly great. Last week there was actually an earthquake in Guatemala..... suddenly at lunch time (i cant remember the day!) it started shaking. It definitly was not like in the movies where everything was falling down, but there was quite a bit of movement. We were 3 hours away from the heart, so that could be way., But it was felt over most of Western Guatemala and El Salvedor. Luckily no one was hurt, and there was only 1 landslide. It was weird though, it lasted for a good 50 seconds, and then we had some earthquake drills with the kids in school. Thank goodness we have a new girl helping (Zoe) from Spain, who could explain the drill was better then any of the other volunteers could have... Other than that it was not to eventful. On Friday we celebrated the birthday of Rachel, the project manager in Iztapa. It was fun...the kids love here, so they all made her cards and sand, ect. I had way to much cake...it seemed to turn up everywhere. Then on Saturday, i went with some other people to this ¨getaway¨called

the Earth Lodge. Its only about a 20 min. drive from Antigua, and its just a place to go hang out and relax. It was really beautiful...up in the mountains, lookiung down on Antigua, and just a few cabins. There were games, movies, hammaks, drinks, and AMAZING food. So basically we jsut hung out, watched a movie, played some games in an amazingly beautiful place. Then Sunday did the same thing, watched a few Family Guy episodes as it poured rain (we were waiting for it to stop before taking the 1.5 hour trek...okay more like walk downhill home). Then last night went out for a cheap dinner (i had a slight splurge on jewlery..it was so nice though..all home made...carved, weaved...just beautiful though). Then today returned to school and had an excellent day. I finally feel like i am teaching the kids things, and their learning from me! ITs really exciteing. And a new volunteer Sally is my class, which is so nice, because the kids in the afternoon are quite crazy. So overall everything is going great, it still pours almost every afternoon... and i think i like snow better. This weekend i am going to El Salvedor, so am quite excited!! I hope everyone is well!!
