Diamond Island
Diamond Island We arrived in St. George July 3. We were heading for Tobago Cays this morning, when Maribel went below to listen to Chris Parker. Well dang, Chris changed his mind from yesterday's forecast. Chris said this is going to be a tropical depression, and everyone should be in a safe anchorage by Wednesday night. So we did a 180, headed for Mayreau, then Union Island in order to check out from the Grenadines.
After anchoring in Union Island, a fellow sailor offered to give Pete a ride into dinghy dock, so we didn't have to drop ours. According to Pete, it was a short 5 minute walk. No checkout fees.
We left Union around 0930 hours. We spoke on the VHF with Sea Schell, who was ahead of us, Harry told us he hugged the coast of Diamond Island, then going just South of the Sisters towards the coast of Grenada. This let him go in between Kick em Jenny and Kick em Jack volcanoes. We followed suit. Arriving in St. George around 1530 hours.
We anchored in the lagoon next to Sea Schell. Rather complicated channel getting in, definitely not for a night approach. It was to late for customs.
North Coast Grenada
Isn't it beautiful!! We made it!!! So we will wait till morning.
Early dinner and welcome sleep. We are in safe waters. Called Lymon, our friend from Fort Lauderdale. Found out Jenny was here visiting for a month. Made arrangements to have dinner with Jenny and her kids tomorrow night. (Jenny has townhouse next to our daughter Joann)
