Good morning everyone! I am going to try something new by posting a "weekly" review instead of the occasional daily post. I have some friends and family who don't use FB so I need to at least post for them. I will continue to post daily pictures on FB though.
What a GREAT week! Highlighted of course by Yari's week long visit! It is always a pleasure having her company, although we do have our occasional "bumps" in the road lol! But for the most part we really enjoy each others company. Of course if one of us would learn the others language the "bumps" would be far and in between. Defining our relationship is best described by the Facebook status "its complicated" lol! We care for each other deeply and at some point we will have to decide in what direction it will go. She has made it clear what SHE wants lol but I'm not so sure I want to give of my life back in the States and live here year round.. I love working for the Cav's so much! So as my friend Monty says.."relax"! Time will tell!
As you have seen by the pictures
the destruction/construction has started on our new pool here at Stanza Mare. IMO when completed it will make Stanza Mare one of the premier gated communities in this area! The original plans call for it to be completed by the end of July early August. It will be fantastic to say the least! Meantime I have the beach to enjoy. I have the option to lay on our private beach and swim there as well. Or right next door is a public beach and the private beach of the Bamboo Bar. Lately I have been using both. In somewhat of a routine I have been meeting my Italian friend Viviana at the Bamboo beach each morning for coffee and to lay out. Usually just for an hour or two early morning. I have got to tell you though with this Caribbean sun you have to be careful. First off the ocean breeze here in Bavaro is very strong. It will give you a false sense of the sun's real strength. You feel the cooler breeze and although the sun is baring down, you don't feel its real heat. So even after an hour or so you can and will burn
some days. My poor face just never seems to tan completely like the rest of my body. So even without the pool the ocean/beach is always a good place to start your day. And so much activity occurs on the beach it is sometimes just fun to watch everything going on around you. Especially Sundays when a lot of the locals(Dominicans) come to the beach. Singles, groups, family all enjoy the day.
So with Yari being here my routines go out the window and we pretty much decide our day on the fly. Our schedules are a bit reversed, I am an early riser, she is not lol! Although this visit I was staying up with her almost as long. She does not have some of the luxuries at home as I I have here so she takes advantage of that. For example 24/7 internet. She can watch net TV and videos ALL night lol! I enjoy pleasing her and seeing her happy so I encourage her to enjoy herself, even at my expense. I took her to the Casino twice this week. Like many people she seems addicted to it lol! I myself have GREAT restraint as to
the amount of money and time I spend in any casino. Yari seems like a kid at Disneyland and simply does not want to leave once she's in lol!!! Hence, one of the "bumps" in the road we experience. I have to admit she seems to have some pretty decent luck. Not so much in winnings but play time. She has sat at one machine for HOURS on $20! Yay(not) lol!
Mid week we had a most enjoyable evening. We were invited to dinner at my friend Monty's place across the courtyard. He had invited one of his lady friends, Yokairy, and I must say the girls seemed to hit it off well with each other. Monty is a very gracious host and I thank him for inviting us! Poor guy sweat to death cooking for us all! But we had a great meal and a fantastic time.
A couple of nights found us at Danny's Sports Bar. Yari likes it there because she has a couple friends(ours) she can talk to in Spanish. We enjoyed Karaoke Wednesday night and played some pool two other nights. Yari cheats lol! A few times when my back was turned she
moved balls to her advantage lol! On another night we had a very good meal at the Beach Club. A guy there plays this kettle like pan that simply sounds amazing. He claimed to have played with Jimmy Buffet even! One night we went to Liquid Lounge and met up with some friends. Steve's Bar, half owner John and his wife Lana and a couple others. Saturday we had a beach day at the Bamboo beach and stayed home that night where Yari cooked another great meal for us. She seems to enjoy cooking for us and well I have to admit everything she has made I have loved!
Sunday Yari said she needed to head home for some family obligations. And although I hated to see her go, i know she will be back, so no biggie. We have a unique relationship and have good times together. So hopefully she will be back in a couple weeks!
Sunday afternoon I found myself alone again but went to the beach to relax. Weird, but I met a couple from Elyria lol! They live on Columbus just across town from me. What a small world huh?!? And that about
wraps up my week folks! Enjoy your new week everyone!!!
