It was our last night or it was the beginning of my last week in the cast. Choose which one you think made us decide we could splurge and go somewhere very very nice. Whatever the reason we decided after reading through several reviews to go to Hotel La Mariposa and eat at Le Papillon Restaurant. We had passed by this hotel walking back up from the beach on previous trips and it looked as if it would have some great views

We decided to take a taxi because we were not sure where to get off the bus and not sure how far down the road we would have to walk with my cast. Glad we did because we did not remember how far up the hill you had to go to get there.

It was definitely a luxury hotel and not one we would be staying in if we wanted to keep up our travel habit. But that being said, it was a real dream of a place, with that Casablanca feel.

Walked through to the outside bar with a swim up area as well as regular seating. The view was 180* from the headlands of the Manuel Antonio Park to almost Quepos.

There were several levels of pools and all had a wonderful view over the ocean below. We made a reservation for dinner early so we could have a primo view of the water below. Had one drink at the bar and laughed at the antics of a kiskadee that kept flying in to the designer pool and getting a drink of water and according to the bartender. apparently trying to cool off

Got seated for dinner and our waiter appeared to take our orders. This place had not gotten the best of reviews but our service was incredible and so was the food!!!

We ordered a caesar salad to share......had to try it because it came with anchovies!! Laura had steak and Robert rack of lamb. They were both delicious and Robert had some lamb left to take for our road lunch tomorrow.

A guitar player appeared and was the evenings entertainment. We enjoyed his singing and talked to him briefly as we left to head back and get ready for our trip tomorrow. Got back to our room and were having a nice night's sleep when at 11:45 our neighbors came into their room playing some movie on their phone very loud. Banged on the wall and said "silencio por favor!" They did turn it off but we could not believe it.
