Leaving Dominical we headed for Jako, a tourist surf spot full surf and bars. In the hostel we met a couple- Jodie from Cardiff and Phil from Austria. Phil sounda like Arnie but unles you want to see him behave like Arnie, dont mistake him for German! We had a good night out with them and a few other travelers, as well as many dawn and dusk surfs! Here we all bought dirt cheap surfboards!! three nights later were off again to the Nicoya Peninsula with phil and jodie. The journey was split up by an amazing ferry ride through the costa rican islands for just $2! Yet again we picked up another friend Dean, a Kiwi. So the 7 of us set of to try and find a good deal in a hostel at Montezuma, a tiny seaside village. The place we settled for was cheap but we are all pretty sure the little old lady cast a spell on us when we left. she was not the most welcoming of hosts! Montezuma had overpriced and under portioned food, bad combo! we even walked out of Chico's Restaurante because of the tiny portions put on our plates! I think deans

face in the picture says it all.

This aside, the waterfalls made up for it!!!! amazing jumps and scenic views just 20 mins from the hostel!

That day we left for Santa Teresa/ mal Pais. The 7 of us managed to get a good deal on a minibus. we each had 2 bags and a surfboard and for some reason i managed to get the seat with all this on my head (see picture) that evening we arrived at the cheapest and best hostel yet! $8 a night, hammocks, free breakfast, tea and coffie all day, 50m walk to the surf!although nick saw more of the toilet than every thing else that day! Maybe he should have copied jake and let the ocean do the flushing?

The food was good here but nothing compared to the feasts that phil (aka our personal chef) cooked on the last two nights.
Leaving Santa Teresa we also had to leave Phil and Jody. These guys have been amazing to tavel with the past week so they will be missed but onwards we go! Weve also split with Dean but are arranging to meet in Nicaragua this week!

Before Nicaragua it was a stop off in Montezuma with an amazing canopy tour through a massive forest!

I'l finish with another classic Nick story:

Leaving Montezuma we packed the bags into the bus under-storage, as the driver went to close it nick remembered he had forgotten something, so he rummages through his bag as the driver waits. then jake reminded him his ipod was back in the hotel! This would be devastating for nick if he lost his music! but he continues rummaging through his bag. We asked him what he had forgotten, we thought it must be really important considering he isnt so worried about his ipod. He jokes 'my lip balm' but doesnt give us an answer. We asked him again and reminded him he's going to leave his ipod behind. After a few more moments of frantic rummaging he gets to a little bag. What was in the bag?? A small pot of vasaline lip balm! PRICELESS! But this all said, he was a ledgented and opted to sleep on the floor that night as the hotel ran out of beds (for a few beers from us)!

Now = NICARAGUA!!!!! Will uptade
