DucksDucksDucks

I startled a group of ducks into flight!
Today was our solitary free day in Palo Verde! A few of us (Morgan, Jimena, Lauren, Emily, and I) went out to catch bugs and walked to the river and back via the marsh. We saw some ducks, storks, capuchins, cookoos, caracara, and a crocodile...among other things. Not many bugs were caught. After lunch half the group went to a waterfall (the first group went in the morning). It was INCREDIBLY beautiful and we could climb all over it! It was about 50 ft and had a large pool at the bottom. We swam underneath and then climbed up to the top to climb all over. I got a sunburn (not too bad) but I can't stop thinking about the nickname costa ricans give the burnt gringo tourists (Picha de perro...look it up). Now we are back at the station (everyone on the internet...makes research hard). We won't have another free day while we are here. 3 weeks! oy vey this is going to be long. We have our Independent Projects coming up quickly and I am thinking about researching crocodiles. I just need to find a person/group to do the research with. We also have midterms in a few weeks

that I need to start studying for. Work is really hitting hard these next few weeks, it actually feels like school!
Tomorrow we go to the rice farm and then have lecture.

Peace
