Macaw
Neil and his prize winning shot Finally managed to get a shuttle transfer arranged, at one point we thought it was going to be a day long series of buses so quite a relief to have a 4 hour shuttle instead.
Easiest of journeys down through Punteranas with brief stops in Caldera and a sighting of the Crocs as we passed over one of the rivers. Our choice for our last four days is Hermosa. Just 4 miles down the road from Jaco on the Central American coast this is a short boarders favourite and somewhere previously that we have only ever gone for a beer!
Found a lovely guest house called the Hermosa Beach Guest House and as seemed to be typical of the trip we were the only ones staying bar one other couple. Fantastic pool and right on the beach so we were able to chill out, dodge showers! and most importantly be walking distance from the Backyard Bar where we enjoyed a superb two hour happy hour and all our meals.
As always on these trips we have several competitions on the go at any one time and Hermosa proved to be the race to get the first decent shot
Playa Hermosa
Big smiles at completing our Full Montezuma around Central America of a macaw. Of course, just to annoy me Neil finally on the last day got a fantastic one, I had to settle for just enjoying watching these red, yellow, blue and green creatures doing flypasts.
Hermosa is tiny and quite a contrast from busy Jaco and it was a great place to reflect on the trip and to be just a 10 minute transfer from our final destination. As Peter Moore the author would say we have now done our Full Montezuma and we are just so made up to have made it this far without anything too traumatic and still have a lovely couple of weeks to chill out in Jaco.
