so the journey was interesting

was going to take the 6 am direct from monteverde (santa elana) to puntaranas (a port city) to take a ferry to paquera to take a bus to montezuma (beach town). 3.5 hours, 2 hours, 2 hours, theoretically. but last night was kind of late walking the night streets and i wasn´t feeling well cause all the wind. mucho wind. and the cold, so i decided to f·%"· it and sleep in. no worries feel better today cause i took some elderberry. thanks daddy!!!

so this morning took a couple hours hiking the streets up and down the mountin hills with eran. we caught the 2:30 to barranca where the bus dropped us on the side of a highway to catch another bus to paqueras, we got there just before sunset. man is this place a crap hole. but i like it. but not to stay. felt a little sketchy walking down the streets with my back pack, but we had to go to catch another bus to the ferry terminal, taxi to expensive. typical south american type town with bars and barbed wire and corrigated patches of steel roof, but somehow this place seemed a little worse. don´t get me wrong i normally love this peculiar architecture but this town seems... well extra crappy.

made it to port around 6:30 pm, beautiful sunset, lots of wind and a barred locked up, mostly shut down town. when to the ticket booth to buy our tickets for the ferry but the ferry ticket booth doesn´t sell them, the bakery does. go figure. but the bakery ticket man doesn´t come till 730 pm and the ferry leaves at 9 pm. so i bought the last beer in the only place that´s open and using the old man´s internet - i wish i could use exclamation marks but the key boards are wierd here, hence the poor punctuation. anyways this town reminds me, or area rather i should say, reminds me of an old southern town in old western movies, with gunmen, but latin style. there seems to be dust balls rolling in the streets. well one thing is for sure, there is A LOT of dust and a lot of wind. but finally its hot here!! i´m totally comfortable and happy despite wearing the SAME clothes since puerto viaje. i think that makes 5 days now. but no i don´t smell!!! maybe my clothes are getting cleaner... hehehe -kidding

saw two ferry boats arrive. really cool watching hoardes of tourists coming off along with massive buses ready to haul the cattle back to san jose. so we should reach paquera around 11pm and then walk the streets looking for a cabina or an impossible way to montezuma.

had tasty avocado sandwitches today, along with a small tasty donut and even ice creame!!

the wind is warm and pleasant, and the night ferry should be interesting, so should the adventure at the other side.

xoxo
