Tortola, British Virgin Islands
Capital City is Roadtown

Up early again to get ready for our trip on the Island. Tortola is the Capital of the British Virgin Islands. . There are 50 Islands in the British Virgin Island group and only 18 occupied. Raining quite hard as we get off the ship. Same type of transportation as St. Thomas except this one does not have a roll down curtain on our side. We started to get off but the driver assured us that after we got going it would be OK because the wind would blow from the other side and we would stay dry. Decided to believe him so stayed aboard. The roads are steep and narrow. Drive on the left and use the horn a lot so other drivers will know we are coming. Could not see much from the “Mountain Top” because the clouds were thick and hanging low. Lots of rain. Worked our way down the mountain and stopped at Purser’s Landing for a “free sample” of a rum punch.
