Lazy day at Parrot Nest Lodge

We slept in today - 7:45a! We decided to have a quiet day of rest instead of booking a tour. We had a late breakfast/brunch of some scrambled eggs, fruit (pineapple, bananas, and dragonfruit - which I had never had before, but it was pink and tasty), and some fry jacks - which are made from a tortilla mixture and fried. They puff up and have a bit of a crunch. They were delicious. We also had some local honey, which was good too.
The family left after brunch, so it feels incredibly quiet around here. Another couple showed up today, but they are pretty quiet.
We spent the day just hanging around the main area, reading, napping a bit, reading some more. In the afternoon we saw some iguanas out on the grass by the river, so we decided to walk down and see them. There was a bunch of them around and in this one tree. One even jumped off the tree into the river for a swim.
Later we played some cards and when it got dark we watched the fireflies flicker around the grass. We walked down to the river and through all the fireflies. They are so beautiful and fun to watch.
Had another delicious dinner prepared by Theo and got told we were going to the ATM caves tomorrow.
We have to be up at 6:45a to get picked up, so we are going to bed early tonight to make sure we are rested up. I think we are both pretty excited to be going!
