We made it! Well, it is hard to believe but we finally left the US and are now writing you from the Bahamas! We definitely picked the right weather window as we had a perfect crossing of the gulf stream. We had enough wind to put up the sails but not enough to have rough seas. Like so many others we love to travel and we love to sail so cruising makes a lot of sense. Janice has retired from Cornell as a business manager and Bob has retired from South Seneca school district as the high school principal. It's time to sell the house, get rid of whatever doesn't fit on our 40 foot Caliber LRC named Tsamaya (this means Travel Well in Setswana) and set off to see the world. The manmade beach

Atlantis does everything to keep its visitors at the resort - even to the point of building their own beach

Potters Quay

This is where the fishing and produce boats come with their delivers to Nassau

Playing backgammon

Every where you look you see people playing backgammon - this is early at the market before things get busy

Highly recommended

We always chuckle at the recommendations of many of the places of business like this one

the British influence

The traffic police have quite the uniforms - looks like the British influence is still around

The City Market

Many of the women vendors continue to make their wares while selling - quite a busy place

Artwork from cans

Reminded us of the toys made from cans when we were in Botswana - a great use of the empty cans

This is only one of the many aisles at the City Market

Shells & starfish for sale

Everyone has something to sell - even to shells and starfish

What a tail it was

Hard to believe this was the smallest tail available

Our boating buddies

We were fortunate to have been able to make the trip with these great people - Jesse & Ginny from Wind Dust and Barbara and Mike from Goosebumps - thanks for everything!
