Cairo I'm so jealous I can't hardly stand myself. Cairo. Egypt. Arrrghhh! I've got to win the lottery so I can just dash out and meet you when you take all these trips!
Loading Pictures from Yarosolvo I will have to check the spelling, but I was just loading the pictures from Yarosolvo which is a famous city north of Moscow. I am guessing it is about 300 kilometers, maybe more, north of Moscow. In an earlier posting, I thought I was going east, but after looking on the map, it is due north.
Then next week, I am off to Cairo Egypt for about a week and finishing that week of vacation in Frankfurt Germany visiting with my parents who will be visiting my sister and her family.
White Party Yes, that was the for the White Party theme night on the cruise. Not trying to brag, but I too thought I looked pretty good...lol Thank you and please also tell Beth thank you for the compliment!
Welcome back I'm so glad you are back to entering on your blog. I missed you! I'm glad you had some wonderful trips though. I'm truly sorry about your kitty-cat. Congratulations on the contract extension. I just wish I could afford to come and see you. I can't wait to see where your next mini-trip will be. Take care!
Studly in White Wow, you look marrrrvelous in the picture where you are dressed all in white. My friend at work, Beth, says so too. I think she may have gotten a little too excited. I reminded her that you are, um, unavailable.
Great Story Great story, Vince.
I introduced my wife to you via your blog tongiht. We had a good laugh.
Hope all continues to go well for you in spite of your washing machine.

I've heard of haunted houses but never quite a haunted bathroom! lol It could only happen to you! I'm glad to hear about your teaching English going well, you were always really good at explaining things. Have fun and keep writing, you are missed.
See, you can get through thick heads after all! lol You just have that persuasive way about you sometimes... Hope all is well and your vacation was even better!
Belated Birthday Wishes How nice that they make a big deal of birthdays, and that they honor your parents with toasts. We could use some of that etiquette here! Glad you enjoyed the parties for what they were intended to be, and that you were kind to everyone for their efforts. An early Happy Valentine's Day to you, while we're at celebrating!
Zurich looks magical Liked your photos of Zurich, and that you love the "feel" of the city. I, too, love clocks and your positive feedback makes me want to visit it, too.
I haven't received notice of your last several blogs, for some reason my new e-mail address may not be working with it but I re-registered today and hope that it works. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!
Happy B-day! I'm glad you had such a wonderful birthday. That's a Russian tradition I think we should have in America. And even though the snow wasn't good, Zurich looked great! I'm so jealous! Hey, maybe you could get a one year contract for a company there since you liked it so much. :0)
Pictures Do Not Match I do not know what I was doing last night, but these last pictures actually go with the next entry. It may have been the website because it took forever to upload pictures and now this morning it seems back to normal.
Any way, I am going to leave the pictures were they are at, but just know they may not all be posted with the correct blog entry.
I figured you'd found something worth keeping you away from writing for awhile. Glad to hear you're having this much fun. Don't forget about us waiting to hear about your fun though - lol. Take care.
Sounds like you had an exceptional Christmas. There's something uniquely wonderful about being away from home at Christmas that gives you a comraderie with those around you there.
What fun! The cafeteria did decorate up nicely -- and you clean up pretty good, too (coat and tie!). I am very impressed with the balloon decorations -- someone there is very talented in that field. The professional dancers are pretty in their colorful costumes -- were there only female professional dancers? What were their dances -- any traditional Russian ones? I'll work on sayings, too. Happy New Year to you, Vince. May it be healthy, wealthy and fun for you.
WOW! Looks very entertaining. I'm eagerly awaiting the video and sound clip of your performance though. lol Looks like they go all out to celebrate New Year's Eve. Because fireworks are legal here they too go all out and start setting them off at dark and don't stop until 1 or 2 in the morning. You can't sleep even if you wanted to. I'll work on those sayings for you if I can. Take care and Happy New Year to you too!
It sounds like you are having a wonderful time. I really enjoy reading your Journal. Its so great to hear about Russia from someone that is actually living there and experiencing day to day life.
Merry Christmas
I changed my portrait from my lastest picture from Tokyo where I saw ZED by Cirque du Soleil and even go to meet ZED.
Summer has pasted and now it is winter here in cold dark (short days with little sunshine) Russia. For those that did not hear, I signed on for another year so I will be living here in Obninsk until January 2009.
It is finally summer here in Russian so thought I would change the picture. Enjoy the stories, adventures, blunders, etc. as I live and work in Russia.
I do not want to loose any of my emails and stories, so I am just going to add to this existing one. ... full info
