Arrived Cochin 23 Jan after 10 hour overnight coach journey - not too bad, wouldn't want to make a habit of it tho. Taxi to Fort Cochi, then picked up by tuk-tuk driver Joseph, who 'adopted' us for the first few days, can be hired by hour/day or whatever, v reasonable rates and endlessly obliging. Found Daffodil Home Stay, best accom.to date - new build on traditional Portuguese style, cool stone floors, nicely appointed room, no roaches, SILENT, EFFICIENT air con. and fan - makes all the difference whether you sleep or not, best night's sleep in 3 weeks.
