Heading back to Great Britain!? I thought you weren't getting back until Christmas. Perhaps you are taking the scenic route through the rest of Europe.
The Woolly way.... He certainly does, we do try and vary things a bit when we can convince Ian that there are other things about not only castles! Just been looking at Vienna for when we get there, Woolly and I are voting for the chocolate museum!
Sines Wow, you have come a long way since I last checked on you! Don't know why but I thought you were going North, not South.
If you go South of Lisbon, check out Sines. It's not a very touristy place but the castle is worth a visit and the town itself is interesting. I described it in my blog [blog=760766].
Are you headed for Morocco?
John
Tooooooo Cold The plan was to head North but it's been so cold we thought we would come South and then pedal back in the summer months. We got to Sines yesterday and it was beautiful, unfortunately our cameras were out of battery following the 3 million pics we had taken at the Safari Park. Were not doing Morocco yet, that comes under phase 4!!!! Heading to Gibraltar and then back up through Spain, we have to be in Milan for the 12th June but who knows after that.
Great to find the travel blog. Images are really beautiful and grabs the visitors attention. The information provided on the site is useful and it really helped me a lot. French Furniture
Having a ball! It's been really good up to now, rain in Spain has stopped play for the day so will start moving South tomorrow aiming towards Portugal, wish you guys were with us!
Wow! You can really see a lot between now and Christmas... It looks like you are headed towards Spain...summer along the Mediterranean should be interesting.
Spain it is! Your spot on, Spain and Portugal next, we were originally planning to stay further north in Europe but hopefully we will circuit back up when the weather is warmer.
Breathless! I go away for a couple of weeks and you take off on your travels with no warning! How do you manage to post blogs every day? It takes me hours to compose what I want to share.
Glad you are having fun despite the weather.
It's never easy! We have sort of continued from where we left of with Georgie on the travel front. I average an hour and a half to do the blogs and then poor Ian has to check my spelling and grammer (being dyslexic can be a problem lol), posting poses more of a problem, I write each night and hope to post then but have had to rely on McDonalds to post quite a few, good job there coffee is good and cheap!
You can take a Mammoth to water but you can't make it drink....much! We always have plan b, c, d and quite often e at the ready, but sometimes we revert to plan Z, stop and start again the next day!
You haven't mentioned much about the difference between caravaning and camping... but did see that you had to set up camp in the rain. When we first moved to Europe, we bought a tent and went camping in the Netherlands. It was raining the day we had to pack up the tent, and that was such a miserable experience that, given the probability of rain in Northern Europe, we never went camping in Europe again. We did camp in Minnesota years later, and again it rained. I hope the weather cooperates for you!
Weather and tenting The weather is improving daily as we go further south, although the nights are still bitter - more clothes in bed and out! We have only had one real problem with the rain where we started to pitch, it was pouring and we found rock under the first cm of grass, end result we shoved everything back in Oliver and drove very quickly to another site. We are missing the comforts of Georgie but we do get up better in the morning! We will try to add more on the differences for us in the future blogs.

A truly multi-national mammoth that travels the world visiting places of interest, making new friends and causing mischief wherever he can. With my carer Jo (bless her!) I have scaled castle walls, walked in the footsteps of Roman Emperors and Maharajah's, climbed mountains, contemplated caverns, caves and canyons and attempted the Le Mans 24 hour race on a skateboard! Whether it be climbing a Minaret in Mostar, Paddling in the Arabian Sea, Scaling mountains in Kotor, Feeding chickens in France or Catching trains in India, not... full info
