The Birmingham Odeon Hey Guys, wow the bands at the Birmingham Odeon, does it still exist, I remember seeing Angus Young, aloft on Bon Scott's shoulders, on the 1978 Highway to Hell tours, I was 14, and I thought it was the greatest thing I had ever see.
Some great bands at the Odeon, then the NEC came along and spoilt it.
My regards

That's a coincidence! We might have passed you at the concert, both Ian and I went to that one! I think the Odeon provided us with some of the best times, between us we saw: Magnum, Saxon, Nazareth, Judas Priest, Genesis, Tigers of Pan Tang, Supertramp, Motorhead, Barclay James Harvest to name but a few. The NEC has never been the same or as good and even worse the prices shot up!
Oh wow the Chung Ying Hi,
Great pictures of my home town and the Chung Ying, how many times have we eaten there, when we lived in the UK.
Thanks for the memories, happy travels.

It's changing all the time.... New Street looks totally different now, we spent some time naming the bands we had seen at the Odeon, those where the days!

Glad to hear Zoe is fine... I've also made such mad dashes in my travels. On one occasion I took my Mom and two aunts, departing Rothenburg Germany and traveling the Romantic Route to Neuschwanstein Castle, ending the day in Oberammergau. We went for dinner at at 6:30 and received a call from my wife that my 4 yr old daughter had a high fever and was in the hospital. We finished dinner and then drove all the way back to Brussels, arriving there at 4:30 am. My daughter was fine, which was better than being not fine, but it would have been nice to have that news before the long trip home.
It's scary... when you don't know what to do for the best, but we made the right decision. At least she was with us it must have been awful just driving and not knowing what was going on
Beautiful San Marino Definitely one of my favourite places in Europe, only spent an afternoon there, wish it was much longer. Thanks for bringing back some fond memories.
Antibes is our favorite destination on the Riviera... we visited many times. Interestingly, very few blogs have been posted from there...everyone goes to Nice for some strange reason.

A truly multi-national mammoth that travels the world visiting places of interest, making new friends and causing mischief wherever he can. With my carer Jo (bless her!) I have scaled castle walls, walked in the footsteps of Roman Emperors and Maharajah's, climbed mountains, contemplated caverns, caves and canyons and attempted the Le Mans 24 hour race on a skateboard! Whether it be climbing a Minaret in Mostar, Paddling in the Arabian Sea, Scaling mountains in Kotor, Feeding chickens in France or Catching trains in India, not... full info
