It's always a pleasure to get you travel experiences. And it's inharent with that experiences you have seen already more impressive "subjects" Nevertheless it must be nice get in a different environment more or less the same

New are the ferries longer than I m used too, and colder. The kind of people, travellers and local. The nature ,I m used to southern Europe and Asia. And this kind of trips I make is to see new things I m curious for .Last year I saw the shetlands isles and wanted to see more and more extreme.Last reason I just like travelling
Safety first Hi Bert,
As you know:" safety first" must have given you a very comfortable feeling with a lifeboat nearby. I'm not realy surprised that you arranged this in advance. What's the temperature over there. Was in Sevilla
Ast saturdat 38 degrees - told was mild in mid summer up to 50!
Take care,
Cees
Cees it s cold. daytime 12 degrees and night 8 degrees. Had my heater on.The temperature is not the worst, its the wind.Blowing with force 8 or 9 all day.
Was thinking about you To day visited Jerez de la Frontera as you know famous through the Jerez. Expected an exiting town in wich you can smell the jerez miles away. Only diisappointing to day. Well tomorrow si an other day.
Take care.

Groeten, Jan Koole.
Is it an accident or a hobby HiBert,
Nice opening for a " small" talk. You meet often interesting people. Last year Anja had a young couple from Lituania as workawayers. A nice couple from a poor country with good will to develop themselves, and by that also their country.
is it an accident or hobby Yes Cees thats what you see and feel in these countries. They don t let stop themselves. They want work/money and mostly hard workers
Collect all your comments Hi Bert,
Long time no see. I'm in the south of Spain at the moment, Dana is here for a summercourse Spanish, just as last year.
Isn't ot an idea to collect all your comments, about travelling over the years, bring them together and you we provide a nice book!!
Best regards, Cees
Mooie trip Hallo Bert,
Groet,
Jan
missing threefrontteeth Ben juist terug.
Veel pezier in schotland
Bora and Soup! When the Bora comes (a very strong wind from Trieste) the weatehr can go very crazy and everything gets blown around!!! And people have to hold on to each other!!!
Also Friuli has many soups, you'll have to come back and try Jota, the frugal sauerkraut and bean soup from the hills above Trieste or the Minestrone alla Friulana con Orzo (barley, which we use a lot of) or Sòpe di Uàrdi e Urtìes (Barley and Nettle Soup) or the Friulan version of goulash or paparot (spinach soup).
Bologna, la grassa, will have various soups too! I'm not a huge soup person but I think they have various with ham, potato, beans, tomatoes etc......
You could do a soup tour next time! Un giro d'Italia di zuppe!!!!
By the way, did you try the prosciutto di San Daniele? My favourite!
How's Belgrade?
Genoten Hai Bert,
Cees
In my previous life I worked for a more or less big company. Since about 8 years travelling is one of the things I try to do as much as possible.
Every year I try to make at least one big trip by train. I did already the Orient expres route in normal trains, all the trains in Australia.
Around Scandinavia and last year around UK.
In 2009 I made a trip from Faro till Singapore by train and the only country I had to take a bus was Cambodia
In 2010 I travelled from southern Spain to France, Italy and the islands in the Mediterranean. On my way by train to Damascus I returned home from Beogra... full info
