Weather Coruna
I have been in Coruña for the last 5 days and just like your picture of the foggy Santiago Railway Station, it has been a cloudy, rainy, stormy experience. If you can adjust to this, you'll like the rest of the year here.

The Other Side

It will be.
I hope. Never too sure about these things and then the idea sticks. It’s shorter and couldn’t be tougher than the Francés so I plan to do it.

Love the holiday reading
I’m throughly enjoying the reads although I have had to wait a tad later to read these ones as internet on Hamilton Island is sometimes hit and miss, just love holidays...keep up the great posts.

Hamilton Island. Fantastic.
It’s the right time for you to take a break. We’re slowly winding down and reality strikes on October 1st. Have fun and we’ll catch up soon.

Bernkastel-Keus has a festival in Sep where they reenact the buring of the castle...
with fireworks and red flares. Other towns in Germany do the same including Heidelberg and Rothenburg o d Tauber. We really enjoyed our seven years there. Fall is wonderful in Germany!

LOL
Yep. Bus trips can be ghastly. I did a 16 day trip once. Never again. Paid in advance unfortunately.

We live and learn.
Independent is pretty self explanatory; you control your own timetable. Not saying things can’t go wrong, but at least they’re your own mistakes.

I tried to load a photo per your request...
but it is blank just as every other photo. I'm sure this is a temporary situation related to maintaining the system.

I also stayed at the San Martin Pinaro...
a well deserved respite at the end of a long Camino walk! I hope you edit this blog to add pictures once the problem is fixed!
15th September 2019

Hey Bob.
Can you do me a favour and load a photo on any one of your posts, and of course just delete it again once you find out if an image downloads. If you’re not successful, I know there’s a problem with this site. Just let me know in comments, Cheers Steve

Thanks Bob
Yes , I’ll be going back and adding some pics but I’m not sure when it’ll be fixed. Yo suddenly realise that photos are a large part of the story, not just snaps. San Martin’s is a just reward after the walk. You can take yourself back in time when these were monks rooms, high up at the top of the Monastery. Except we have a lift, nice beds, and a great buffet breakfast that I’ll head down to shortly. Santiago never changes, nor has San Martin’s. I first came to Santiago in 2014, and have stayed at San Martin’s since 2016, on and off, and it feels familiar each time. Even the staff are the same, just older. I hope the photo thing is sorted soon. The Spanish storms are meant to arrive tomorrow, so I would have time to sit with a coffee in the lounge downstairs, and sort it out and republish, cheers Steve

Secret
Hey there. Sounds like you are having a wonderful time. Have been sharing some of your blog with some staff here. They want to know the secret. Have a great time.

Just a theory but...
.....I think the stick is attached to the ground somehow and it has a curved part attached that supports his lower back. You could see something protruding from his jacket as he packed up. He was pretty convincing though. It’s been great. Tim’s wedding was wonderful and the trip is ongoing. Vigo next, then Santiago, A Coruña, and to Luxembourg on the 19th for 9 days at Tim and Natalia’s Place. Day Trips to Ghent and Germany from there.

Thanks Marcelle
I thought the lovely bookshop was in Porto but I’ll get onto it because it’s definitely on my list. Actually, it was my list. But I have developed a better list now. Huge cruise ship outside our window this morning. Lisbon is great and this morning we’re going to Belém. Have 2 days left here so I’ll get the bookstore in for sure.

Thanks Donna.
Hope the Nutbush meets the sisters approval. Bit of a laugh but the Europeans loved it. There is footage we’ll send it to you

Fabulous
What a great day. Lovely photos. You are very lucky.
1st September 2019

It was fantastic......
......but now it’s 8am, I’ve had about 4.5 hours sleep, so it’s a double edged sword at the moment. And I don’t drink! So while my brain is just a bit cloudy, for some others the storm will have set in. I’ve never been to a Polish wedding, let alone my son’s, so it was great for us to be here. I have learned that vodka is a great bridge builder. Ha.
