Say what? Francesca put into your head....a guy getting hit by a bus? I think I lost ya there girl. Must be time to come home!! You sound like my Rachel...not many shirts without coffee stains. Take care.
Brass Tax Hey Trisha sounds like your having a blast in China. Really glad you picked up this new job (not for steven one) this must mean your making more money than you used to!! If so thats awsome. And im pretty sure, not positive, that they have a post office there so.......... You can just put the money you owe me + interest in a envolope and send it to me. Thanks a million.
Looking for someone who doesn't always need to be right
Grant Shadwell
hehehehehehehe. he is cute, the guy with the water!!!
and i cannot belive that i missed an accident!!!! oh no, sooo typical me!!!! i really hope at least you did stare at it like all the chinese people!!!! please. do not disappoint me!!
i miss china and i would do everything to come back and live there!!! everything.
enjoy your week and hope you get used to the whole outfit and teaching situation!!!!
Your varied experiences I haven't seen many accidents in China, but I have seen the 2 drivers involved hotly argue about whose fault it was, while about 5 concentric circles of bystanders watch intently. Then everyone goes away: court dismissed!
Have you been in a dept store where there are 4 workers for every customer? I don't like quite that much attention while I'm looking at stuff, so I go to the impersonal stores like CarreFoure. The govt tries to promise a job to everyone (if they're a resident and not some peasant from the country trying to get rich in the big city). They do a good job of coming up with lots of jobs!
Those little cars are like enclosed motorcycles, and last yr there weren't very many of them--China changes fast! We'll be coming in less than a month--can't wait to see you!
Gone liberal? I can't help it. You look gorgeous (as always). I am a bit concerned- from the picture and commentary you look and sound so uptown NEW YORK. Will we ever get you back to the country? Alas, I fear not. Looking forward to your return home (however brief it might be.)
yaaay starbucks. international hangout! woohoo! you know, they just built one on Gervais and it is swwwanky, let me tell you. you will love it. that art s how sounds like a hilarious experience!!
Hey!!! I want more pictures and a longer story! Sorry Trisha but you have us spoiled! And what about that elephant? I don't remember seeing that! I wonder now if I actually saw the Ming Tombs. You always make me want to go back to China and get a Starbucks. Love, Cheryl
AHHH! well Grant can be single all his life if he wants, but if wants to find a real woman he better find one with a brain big enough to be consistently right and he better learn how to amuse her and let her be right....duh! you need to come home and train these loony boys we call our brothers.
p.s. I LOOOOOOOOve your outfit in the top (group) photo. so sophisticated and very prefessional. the boots top it all off.
so i finished Anna Kerenina on sunday (two days early) which is an amazing 800 pg book that i was unable to enjoy b/c it was for class and i was therefore rushed to meet page deadlines. I am now cramming Uncle Tom's Cabin which i think could be good as well but 500pgs in 3 days when i have 3 paintings, a french film review, and 4 ch in astr to do is a bit rough....
all that to say i was really really wishing you were here to give me your version of cliff notes to this sucker so i could write an outline and pass my presentation on Thurs. -- so much so that i was reading near Humanities and looked up and did a pearl clutch as i gasped -- seriously i almost calle dout your name...it was like a "trisha optical illusion". pretty scary. i seriously thought she was you.
but alas, she was not. i realized it in time to avoid anythig embarrassing.
4 weeks til i'm a senior.
3 months til you come home.
time flys doesnt it!
At Home Trisha, I can tell you are very much at home with all your new friends, even in such a different culture. I am so happy you had the courage to do such an adventursome thing.Dan says you won"t be the same---more grown up. Will I know you? Yes, that will never change. Love you, Grandmama
you're skiing? What haven't you done in China? Skiing! You are taking advantage of your time there. I am so glad! Yeah, you'll miss it. It's wierd how you can love two completely different places. One thing you are going to love is the fresh U.S. air and the clean water. Take care, Cheryl
say what! oh my goodness. i can't belive mom and catherine can't recognise you form Francesca. I think the long light brown hair that looks like it has a lot more blonde than yours, was a giveaway for me...and the fact that the pic is titled "Francesca", but maybe i'm just really observant. Francesca looks like a mixture of Dawn Marsh and Lou (from the shack). I love this blog. i laughed so many times. and i read peices of it to Casey -- remember Casey? anyways the part about texting the guy in order to hang out put us in stitches.
wonderful adventure I'm glad you had such a good time but I think you have been gone too long because I don't know whether that's you or Francesca in the bunk bed. Catherine may not know either. Yes it's definitely been way too long.
"Home in Beijing" Well, that's an interesting comment! Sounds like you have a marvelous time - food poisoning and all. And I love that picture of you in your bunk. Too cute! Take care of yourself - I miss you sooooo much!
Hey Trisha! I'm really proud of you for being such a badass. I was wondering if you might want to try your hand at this project, China style: http://sh1ft.org/26things/
it basically boils down to a scavenger hunt for photos. There's a link to the March list, and in a couple weeks there'll be a new one. Anyway I hope you'll do it. It would be a fun reason to get out and take some shot.
Be safe! Be bold! I'll talk to ya later :)
