We threaded the eye so to speak when we flew from Berlin to Amsterdam. Our arrival marked the closing of most of the northern airports around these parts due to the Iceland volcanic activity etc. Amsterdam itself is intense. Very intense. On any given intersection there is approximately 24 directions you need to what to make it safely across the road. The most rediculous is that motorbikes can travel on the bike lanes/footpaths at up to 60km/hr...which is rediculous. So you have trams, bikes, motobikes cars all being operated by people who could be stoned and drunk and who knows. Its scary lol. Other than that, its kinda smelly, with tiny houses and cramped stairways. So saying lots of bad things it was in the end quite fun. Though our intensions to try some hash cakes, ... read more

Berlin is amazing. It has a population of 3.5 million but is made for a population of at least double that so has a very roomie and laid back feel to everything. Understated yet meaningful WW memorials, huge parks, buildings scarcely higher than 10 stories (which is apparentyly the norm in Germany) and a local pilsner which tastes quite good, Berliner Pilsner if you can stretch your imaginations to that name =) as well as a massive alternative party scene which fits the bill nicely. After finding our brand spanking new (seriously, i think it was a week old) Hostel 38 seconds walk from the Hauptbhanof (maint station, see you learning too) we decided to go for a run through the massive park neaby, the Tiergarten. CG's foot was playing up so i ended up exploring ... read more

Dresden, the capital of Saxony, home of various old building, some old looking building that were rebuilt after WW2, and apparently an excellant example of eastern germanyness (aka, communist germany pre berlin wall). We arrived after trainging across half of Germany in time to have dinner, check out the actually very cool skybar for a very forgetable local beer before bed. At this point I should comment that if you are traveling to germany and are under 25, a german rail pass is the best train option. You get a to travel X days in a month for a very reasonable price and you can use any public transport in the country for that day!. We awoke with slight confusion, wondering as to why we came to dresden. Frustartion built as the only good thing about ... read more

Heidelberge is a relatively small town that hosts a castle, a zoo and europes oldest university from like 1350 or so. We did even less here than in Frieburg but, choosing to have a few days off to chill out after that last week of hecktivity. Waking from near sleep and thinking we were at our train stop (Heidelberge Hauptbhanof - Main Station) we jumped off the train in a rush to realize we were not at our train station. Not to worry, following on from the fitness thing we decided to walk to our hostel. So deducing a direction to plod in we set off until we found some free wireless to /iPhone to the rescue and found our hostel. This was rather difficult due to poor hostel signage, but find it we did! It ... read more

Europe April 4th 2010

Hey everybody, and hopefully mum, Aunties Sandra and Angela and Uncle Rod and anyone else who may read (assuming I inivited you correctly, thanks to big J). Two Side Notes Before We Begin; 1. The Iceland Volcano and associated Ash 0:00 GMT 15th of April. All flights in and out of the UK and throughout Scandinavia have been cancelled for the forseable future. We are both fine and dandy, grounded in Amsterdam and have no plans to fly inside of 10 days (training to an asset we have in the Netherlands, then train to Clogone and Hamburg..at this juncture). Ourdates are flexible and can be changed easily. So, we are goooood and the ash should not effect us, unless train lines get clogged with people. 2. Many gratuitous apologises for the lateness of my blogging. It ... read more

Hello viewers!! :) Lets see, ill round of Dubai first. We went to the other water park at the Atlantis hotel and it was much of the same. Its main attraction though is a Massive ziggurat that is a hub for 90% of the slides at the park. The epic arabian lazy boy system of interconnected tube rides where you get shot up hill was present offcourse. The other major note was the Leap of Faith which is quite rediculous. It goes down at about 85 degrees then shoots you through mist before you go through a tunnel through a shark tank and out. Its fast and its awesome and if you dig your heals in you can nearly walk at the end due to a reduction in ass pouding. Then home to cammsims, early start ... read more

Prologue AAAAnd we are off. Prepare your senses to relive my travels through my second to non blogging skillz. Prepare to enter a world of intensionally mispelled words and comedically backwards grammar. Prepare to enter the magical realms of..me and my profund thoughts!! The term mind scape does come to mind.. Some things i should probably cover first. 1. Parlous is my failed attempt at a gamer tag or a gamer handle. I saw it had a bad ass meaning once (means im fraught with danger or something aka. im a dangerous homeboy) and i thought if one thing describes me, its bad ass hence parlous. 2. Personal offense disclaimer. I will probably offend some people in the world who may or may not read this, either way some people whether or not they have read ... read more

Well well well. Looky what we have here. This is the first of these I have tried so lets see how it works =) So im heading on my trip on the coming Monday (22nd) of March and how better to start a trip than with a house warming?? / going away party =P Off-course the party is unicorn themed for obvious reasons. Ill get some photos up of it maybe...or maybe ill just use facebook pictures, im not sure which will be easier, but since this seems cooler with a travel tracker system then I might do it all in here. This is just a test to see how this works mostly, and im not sure how many people want to read my travel blog about me getting drunk at my house with some people ... read more
