Intro Just spent a day walking around in Chengdu, looking at some tourist attractions, some of the sopping districts, and some of the general city areas. The whole day was on foot to try and get a real feel for the place, and was quite rewarding, while tiring. Chengdu is a big place! Tianfu Square Tianfu Square is located right in the middle of Chengdu. It is a large open space with gardens, flags, statues and police, rimmed by a skyscraper skyline topped with construction cranes. The area is peaceful and relaxed in the otherwise busy city centre, despite hundreds of tourists. A large statue of Chairman Mao overlooks teh square, apparently one of the best examples in China.
