Asia » Nepal » Kathmandu December 3rd 2011

I'm leaving soon for Nepal. Not only to visit this beautiful country but to go to Kathmandu. Near the city of Kathmandu (Lalitpur) is a secondary school 'the Kalyan English Secondary School'. Thanks to friends here in Belgium, I have the pleasure to go and visit this school. I'm not only going to visit the school, but I hope to make me useful. I hope to have some free time so I can send some news and pictures. During my "free" time, I will go visit the "Valley of Kathmandu", and hopefully I can put some pictures on my blog. Thanks to Mr Karki, a former guide in Kathmandu, but now principal of the school, I will have all the information about the region. The pictures hereby are coming from people who went to Nepal already. ... read more

2011 - trip to New York, it has been a long time since I've seen this pretty city again. 9-11 was a serious change for this city. I hope to find all the beautifull things I've seen before. Chinatown, Wall Street, Liberty Island, Empire State building, Central Park. This time one lucky guy is coming with me, my nephew. I hope to give him some of my travelmadness .... and I hope he will be as enchanted as me about this city. Come and see our pictures and comments the next days. First day in N.Y. And everything is great we went to the Empire state building. Till the top at 87 floor. We walk all the way to broadway and 5th avenue. The day ended in a restaurant for a nice hamburger and a steak. ... read more

Europe » Italy » Tuscany March 29th 2010

Tuscany is a beautiful spot in Italy. Firenze, Sienna, San Guimignano, Volterra, all beautiful places to visit. The weather was very good, not too hot, a few raindrops at night. Just what we need. The food is very good. The hotel Pace in Montecatini, was a nice hotel. Tuscany is known for its beautiful landscapes, its rich artistic legacy and vast influence on high culture. Tuscany is widely regarded as the true birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, and has been home to some of the most influential people in the history of arts and science, such as Petrarch, Dante, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo Galilei, Amerigo Vespucci and Puccini. Tuscany has a unique culinary tradition, and is famous for its wines (most famous of which are Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Morellino di Scansano and ... read more

Europe » Iceland » South February 15th 2009

Zondagavond 15 februari 2009 Het was een lange dag, toen we deze namiddag in IJsland zijn toegekomen. We zijn een groepje van 10 personen. 4 belgian people and 6 dutch people, and 1 swedish lady. All very kind and open persons. The ice was immediately broken when we went to the blue lagoon. Dobberen en genieten van dit warme water. Zoals onze gids Fons zei, allen "poedelen" in het warme water. Iceland is the country of water, fire, and pots.... Hereby some pictures. It's very late now, ik wil gaan slapen. doei christine Update van 16 february 2009 Pictures of Geysir and Gulfoss. Na een droge moren, met prachtige momenten aan de Geysir (lees Strokkum geyser, want de Geysir spuit niet zo veel meer) zijn we naar Gulfoss gereden. Some of the roads are still closed. ... read more
