Hi guys and welcome to the very unlikely event of me writing a blog.

After my last trip to Indonesia I received some feedback from friends and familiy that it would be nice to get a life sign now and then just to let the people who care about me know that I am still alive. Hence I decided to join the blogger community and provide everybody who is interested with an update about my situation from time to time.

Now, everybody who expects a verbal epiphany clearly doesn't know me very well and will most likely be bitterly disapointed. When It comes to writing I'm a minimalist and this will never ever ever change. All my language teachers in school had to learn this the hard way.

I have to disappoint as well all my friends who expect the really jucy details of my adventures and trips. This blog can be read be friends, family and collegues and therefore it might not be a very good idea to reveal too much here. You can make your own assumptions however you like. I will bring everybody up to date according to their clearance through different channels.

Have fun and stop worrying about me...

Here is the final part of this blog for the time beeing and since there are some really nice hanging chairs at the beachfront of this internetplace, I will keep it short and go back to chillaxing and enjoying the last days of my trip to central america... I finished my canyoneering training in turrialba and went on to san jose. from there I moved on very soon to Nicaragua, since Costa Rica felt too americanised and too expensive to stay any longer. So far this is my favorite country around here. Less tourism, a friendly and laid back vibe and miles of empty beaches. About three weeks ago I arrived to a place called "Gigante" only to spend the night. Like so many other people before and after me, I ended up staying here for ... read more

Hello my few but dear followers. I finally got around to write another entry here. I was planing to mostly put up pictures and maps from my trip, but since I didn't move around too much and my camera broke after the first week, there isn't an abundance of either to be shown here. So let me just give you a rough description of the three places I was staying for the last few weeks Bocas del Toro I stayed there for another 3 Weeks in the same homestay/hostel. The first two of them were hopefully the worst part of my traveling... a few hours of rain every day, cold and cloudy the rest of the time and some trouble with my shoulder that kept me from surfing or doing any other sports. The only thing ... read more

My first impression of Bocas was pretty bad. A touristic but pretty run down village, a completely unmotivated guide to bring us to our hostel and to show us around town, almost nobody around in the spanish school, slightly rainy weather... not the vibe I was expecting. Then again it is usually not a good idea to expect too much when traveling to new places, so I swallowed my disapointement pushed my expectations out of my head and just immersed myself in the experience. During the following days I was rewarded with many more or less impressive highlights that made me feel quite comfortable here. There were a lot of different people to meet, beaches to discover, restaurants to try and quite a few bottles to empty. I saw dolphins from the waterfront porch of my ... read more

Central America Caribbean » Panama » Panamá » Panama City December 7th 2011

Soooo here we go... On my way to Bocas del Torro I stayed one night in Panama City. As the name suggests it is a city, which is something I don't like very much, therefore I was happy to have a look at it from a little bit further away.... read more
