Then I got Scammed! Haha, I think I got scammed by the person who bought it for me then. He overcharged me and said he was gonna get a 1st class ticket for me. Beware other travellers! BTW, the 2nd class isn't too bad, I'd recommend it.
The new and Old cake Dear Vic:
Your old cake is not totally bad. Please keep the delicious ingredient of that old cake, just take out the angry part, add on the " calm and peace', then you will make a cake that break the king's record.
I have always enjoyed sharing your cake, no matter it is new or old.
Lots of love.
Death Rage Hey Buddy,
Your post couldn't have come at a better time. I'm in Aruba with Bailey and just found out my grandpa died. I handled it well with my family and told them I'm proud to have such a strong attitude as my middle name (my grandpa woke up everyday like he didn't have cancer, he golfed and lived like normal until the last month or 2).
So handled that well. But with Bailey I told her twice that he was dead and I let loose a little after I gave her a very deep deep hug and I reacted badly when she told me that he was still alive. Anyways, if it wasn't for your blog we both wouldn't be smiling after my outbreak. The reaction is very very hard to master, but working on your reactions a little very single day can snap you out of any death rage. Thanks Vic! Be well.

great article hun. never knew about your white water rafting experience! I went once in 7th grade in Bali with a few people in my grade. I fell out of the boat, but was lucky enough for someone to grab me to safety haha. Definitely nowhere as severe of a situation as yours, but I'm glad you shared that experience with us. :) I miss you so much buddy. I saw maggie the other day, but didn't have time to chat about her trip to turkey! Turkey is so beautiful, i want to go back so badly!
Where are you going to be this winter? Maggie said something about Africa. I'm going to Johannesburg, Cape Town and Sabi Sabi (a safari) from dec26 - jan 6. Please me somewhere near by! if not, i'll also be in hk and tokyo, i'd love to meet up with you cuz i miiiiiiiiiiiissssssss uuuuu. i'm trying to convince maggie to come to hong kong :) xx
Congrats on a new Vic! Wow! it is so nice that you have so many wonderful thoughts, reflections, and experiences on your long trip.
Thanks for sharing. You will be a great baker for your own. Look forward to meeting you again soon.
Hello Uncle Vic! Vic, thank you for dedicating this blog post to the girls in the Chang family! Come February and in the many years to come, the boy-girl dynamics in our family will change and it's going to be a blast! No kidding when you say that this baby girl is one lucky duck. If she doesn't come out smiling, I don't know what went wrong! Seriously, her DNA is from the happiest and most joyful family I know. We are ready for her to enter this world of love. You're going to be the best uncle because you're so generous with your kindness and I hope you can teach her your passion for life and adventure. If there is one thing (out of many) that she gets from her uncle, I hope it's your free spirit and love of laughter.
Each time I feel the baby kick or tumble, I always say "WHOA babe, hang in there, just a couple more months." But we are so so ready for her NOW! I am getting impatient but I can't even begin to explain how much I love being pregnant. No joke. Never thought I would make such a statement. It's simply the best feeling and I love that we have a connection that is just me and her for 9+ months. Still no decision on the name yet. We'll keep it a surprise and everyone on their toes until her birth. =) Any suggestions?
By the way, your speech was the only thing that made me cry at the wedding!!! Not during the ceremony or exchanging of the vows, but YOUR speech. Haha. You have made me feel a part of the family from day 1 so I must say that it is actually my honor to call you my bro.
Love you. -Julie

Enjoy your trip with Maggie!
Take care,

hi elephant ! wonderful article ! i saw how Vipassana has been apply to your daily life.
you real understood the meaning of ' live at present ' without the projection of one's pass shadow.
your technique of review the thought , supress all previous assumsions and observe equlerently , is what Mom and I tried to learn from Jung psycology institution at Zurich last two weeks. well, i have to say your approach was more effective and CHEAPER.
you looks so happy , healthy and fit on the photo . i am so proud of you .

Elephants and Mice Vic, I think there was a Disney movie or something where elephants were afraid of mice. Maybe it was Dumbo? I bet that's where you got it from lol! Just thought I'd share.
Welcome back bro! You're going to be so glad you wrote this blog 5-10 years from now and read back what your thoughts were during this time in your life. I know I did when I kept a journal (old school way...you know, pen and paper?) of my Tibet and China trip with Mom and Dad 7 years ago...wow it's been awhile...
So welcome back to the non-"equamanence" world, you sure made it sound like a real word! So despite you calling it meditation "prison", would you go back again if you had the chance for another 10 days? Could the same thing be accomplished now that you've experienced it in a hotel room somewhere? And most importantly, what was the first thing you ate when you came out?
Kudos to you! Props for sticking to the meditation camp Vic. I must say, reading your blog makes me want to learn how to meditate! It sounds amazing, and I'm sure it's something most people will never get to experience. Keep writing so I have something good to read. Btw, check your email when you get a chance. I sent you something :)
haha, what is equamanence? Haha, i was wondering if tat was areal word the whole time i was there. He kept saying it over and over until i just believed it was a word! Haha, the Nepali and Indians use strange and complicated words in english, its quite funny actually. But equamanence should be to have the balance of the mind and being able to remain calm.
Congratulations! Vic: I enjoy and loaugh all the way reading your 10 days Vipasanaq experience.
This si such a great artical ( well, from my literature editor point of view!} It vividly shows a young guy's first time experience in deep meditation. it is not green, because, it also contains so much precious learning experience.
I learn a lot from your writing here. The sensatioin that I have never had. Through your description, I had some understanding of that sensation.
Thank you, Vic, for sharign with us your sensation.
Now, time to enjoy life again! No need to become a monk for enlightment.
Welcome back to the "ego" world.
Dad and I are balance between ego and self these days. Jung\s class was interesting. It is a easier way to get into our deep feelings. But I think the Buhdism way is the ultimate final. Subconciousnessa dn dream can help before getting to that enlightment.
Lots to share with you when we finally get together at Taipei. Dec. 10th? i am counting the days.
Mom
these 10 days Vipasana is the highest ROI of your life Vic, welcome back.
What a exciting experience you had ! and a great article too.
i like to endose , in father's name, every word you said here was 100% same experience i had , in case , anyone who doubt about it. People intends to blind spotted what they don't know .
May Shila , samadi and Pana with you .
by the way , I read about Kasirmia is a great place to visit on Today's wall street joural. Just for your information.
What is equamanence? Interesting how much control you have, is this the tip of the ice berg for complete control over mind and body?
I've been focusing on my breathing a lot more to unwind myself from working long days so I can finally sleep. Focusing on breathing is really an interesting experience when trying to silence your mind.
Keep educating us!
Also:
What is equamanence? I tried googling this and only your blog came up and some french books.
Keeps you coming back I don't think you realize it Vic but you have always had a little spiritual glow since I've known you. I was just on a trip with my father and I was referring to your expectations lessons. JR and I also had a similar conversation but more about your blog.
I'm glad you reached this point, I bet it will keep you coming back for more spiritual awareness more than ever. Glad to hear the journey is going this well!

Then I got Scammed!
Haha, I think I got scammed by the person who bought it for me then. He overcharged me and said he was gonna get a 1st class ticket for me. Beware other travellers! BTW, the 2nd class isn't too bad, I'd recommend it.
