Oh, the out-of-control Nationalism. Ha.
I'm so glad that your first weekend after the start of classes was full of adventures and good company... thank you for taking the time to upload all of these pictures... they're wonderful!
As always, I wait patiently for more wonderful updates... enjoy your language partners and cheap lunches at the Mensa. Love you.
Beautiful town Kira,
What a beautiful town! I'm so glad that you are enjoying being there. I love your self-portrait. Your hair looks great!!!
Love ya!!!
I miss you! (But I'm glad you like your city). Hey Kira! I love you!
I'm SOOO sorry I missed your calls on Friday! My phone was on silent, and I was in a store buying a bridesmaid dress. (Darned expensive things those can be... but I like the dress we got!) I'm so happy to hear that the city appeals to you! I'm just *slightly* jealous about the whole speaking-German-all-day and eating German food thing. ;-) Have fun this week. Enjoy your classes and meeting people and all that!
Pombaers Hi Kira! Sounds wonderful and I wish I was there! I forgot all about Pombaers. What about Fonzies? Do they still exist? I had the strangest craving for Almdudler the other day... I think it might be time for me to make a return to that part of the world; you've made me homesick! Take care and have a great time!
Love, Erika
Welcome to Marburg! Hiya Snazzy Face! Is your hair shorter now?! Ohmygosh, it looks fab! I have such hot friends...
Anyway. I miss you. I kinda' wish I could be there, so when you wanted to turn around and tell me a story I would be there to listen to it... but I also kinda' enjoy being on the other end of this blog. Realize, of course, that if you go for too long without writing in it I'll fear the worst... :)
I'm excited that you're able to spend a decently-long period of time in a European town where you are able to really submerse yourself in the culture and language- what an awesome experience! Enjoy the food, enjoy your adorable neighborhood... and bring back some Pombaeren. I know it won't necessarily travel well, but still...
I love you. Happy Monday.
#*(&@#$ That does it. I want London so bad. Hooray for London!
I'm very pleased you went to see an Agatha Christie play when you were there; I went to see And Then There Were None. And it totally made my night.
I must concur about the British Museum. It is awesome!
P.S. Your puppy got so big!!
Thank you!!! Awww... you guys are sooo sweet! Thanks for the thank you note, I'm going to keep it in my "special things" box. I loved having you guys here, so anytime you're over here, you're more than welcome to stay. I'm glad you guys had a wonderful trip in all!
Oh, and the translation was useful for us Londoners too, what with the Kate-Moss-scandal being top news for a month and all...
Thanks for the great Blog Glad all is well and welcome back! London brought back lots of fond memories for me. Thanks for taking me along! Your comments and photos were simply great!

We loved Paris, too! Hi Kira! I'm so glad that you and Connie are having such a good time! Greg and I loved Paris when we visited over 10 years ago and still fondly remember our adventures there. We loved touring the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower and the other sites during the day, and spent our nights walking the streets and dropping by outdoor cafes (and people watching) until the wee hours. How wonderful that you'll have so many memories (and pictures) to share! Be safe, my twin niece! Love you, Auntie L.
Heat Well, thanks for the cool descriptions anyway! I loved the "girlie" part--I know just what you mean--he sounds perfect for you two.
Spending the whole day in the Louvre was a good idea--sometimes it's fun to have "slow tourism" (something like "slow cooking") and really adjust to a place. Hope the pub was fun--(really, you should be drinking beer--it's so much better in England than it is [usually] here). Yay for you and Connie. LK
Hi, Kira and Connie! It sounds like you both are having a wonderful time in Europe, despite the headcolds. It's been great following you around on your journey via this blog, so thanks for the updates, the beautiful pictures, and all the gory details! Enjoy Paris!
P.S. Connie, try to stay away from those Italian pigeons. I hear they're beastly.
African men Oh yes! I'd forgotten about them! They're fun to watch! Kinda like cockroaches! ... although cockroaches probably are not much fun to watch. They do run quickly though. :)
Great to hear from you! The Trevi fountain, ah! So, surreal in it's beauty! It definitely is my favorite fountain to date. I hope you and Connie start feeling better. Can't wait to see picutures of Italy when you get them. Enjoyed reading your adventures in Italy. Keep it up, Kira Mayle, oops I meant Kira Thurman!
Love,
Mom

You guys sound like you are having an absolutely fabulous time and you'll have these memories to share with one another forever... love you both and can't wait to hear ALL of the stories when you get home! :)
I am soooooooooooooooo jealous. You two are having a blast. Your updates are wonderful and I am happy we can share your experience as it happens. Connie we all miss you - but know the two of you are having an experience of a live time. Stop and enjoy every moment! Can't wait for the next update.

Diseased Rats with Wings Hey, lovelies!!
I am so glad to hear that you are both having a wonderful time in Italy, despite the flying investation that plagues you. Isn't Venice wonderful? Sigh...
I miss you guys a lot, and I can't wait to hear about all of your exploits once you get back. Eebs, I am really glad to hear that you have been able to enjoy Vienna much of the same way that I enjoyed it when we lived there. Isn't Vienna awesome? And the FiglMueller's Schnitzel is still out of control from what I see!! Well, I have to run. I love you both very much. Gotta run. e.
I love Venice. Hi, Kira and Connie:
I'm glad that the weather finally turned nice for you. Venice is also one of my favorite cities. So romantic! Your Vienna pictures were fabulous! Looking at the Schnitzel and the Potato salad made me feel really hungry.
Well, thanks for the update!
Love,
Mom
