I cannot begin to let you all know what a rediculous amount of things I've learned, literally in the last five days. After our sketchy, back alley drop off late monday night, it has certainly been a wild ride. I continue thinking of how people can possibly get by being completely illiterate, well, that's kind of what's happening now. There are signs all over the place that people completely understand and skim through without a thought, and it looks like a bunch of chicken scratching to Cass and I. It is a strange concept that you really cant relate to without putting yourself in that situation. Apperently, we wasted no time immersing ourselves in this, since we both started teaching the very next morning. I first had to have coffee (kopee) with the principal, my first ... read more

Holy Cats... Imagine staying up for twenty five hours straight, stuck inside a box all that time, and stepping out of the box onto a different planet. ... and not knowing anything else, or how to communicate to anyone after that point. Helena's ridge trail on my bike. I got back early to sign for it at the post office. It definitely didn't create a sense of calming for either one of us, since it really only contained what we sent, with a bit more korean writing on it. Interesting, but a few emails later, we found out that is all we needed to take to Seattle and get our Visas. Since Cass is still working full time, I'm in charge of many of the smaller little details that we need to get done before we take off. I definitely had my first ... read more

Hello everyone! This is the first entry of this blogging thing Cass and I want to do to keep in touch with everyone. I'm sure all of you know that we are heading to South Korea to teach English. We both are playing a little waiting game right now to hear from the Korean government about visa issuance numbers. We are heading there through a program called Reach To Teach that has been super healpful with each of our million and one questions. At this stage of the process, RTT has found both of us jobs in the Gyeonggi Province in a town named Yeoju. We are finding more and more about the area and country everyday. Everything we hear, either from books of friends or internet or whatever, the more excited we are and anxious ... read more
