Rwanda I enjoyed every bit of this blog very much (apart from the being sick part...I'm a sympathetic thrower-upper). My only wish is that the post had been much longer :) Cheers, Ren

Have you been to Russia? As much as I loved my visit to Venice, I really loved St Petersburg, defiantly not somewhere to live but a great place to visit. I also think Stockholm in Sweden is right up there as one of my favorite's too. Again not to live in but only because of the language barrier. I could quite see myself living in a little town in the Cotswold's! And think when I went there in my early twenties there was no way that's where I'd want to live!
Russia, Stockholm and the Cotswolds Hi Linda. We've went to Russia but it was only a couple of stop overs on a trip to the Maldives, it was the cheapest flight option. We spent the afternoon in Red Square, mooched around on public transport, so we saw a bit and it was interesting. We've not been to St Petersburg or Stockholm but we quite fancy a Baltic Cruise which would take in all of those and more. The Cotswolds is beautiful, we did a week in a camper van around there a few years ago. I'd like to go again. Cheers.
Funny Story Funny story! Especially about the car bit! I'll keep driving my ugly one if that means I can have one more trip! We fly off to America tomorrow morning!
Thanks I get grief off colleagues about my holidays, one guy was jealous (in a jokey way) but he drives a brand new SUV that cost him about £20k; a millstone for years. Have a great time in the USA. Where are you going? We spent a month there 7 or 8 years ago. Awesome holiday. Best wishes and thanks for reading my blog.
PS I've written more on my own site called shouldigo2.com.
Looks interesting HI there, I have enjoyed reading your blogs. I only joined yesterday. I love the fact that you and your wife travel 8 times a year. We have 3 overseas trips planned this year. We have 4 kids with us too so costing a bit more than for just 2. But I love how you do get 8 trips in. We live in New Zealand so the price of just getting out of NZ costs a bit. But coming down in price all the time! I'd love to follow you and see some more of what you get up to. Hoping to take the kids to the UK and more in a few years. I have already been to 40 different countries with many times to the UK and USA but hoping to see a whole lot more. Russia has been my favorite so far!
Hi Glad you enjoyed my blog, thanks for reading. Did I reply to this? I think I did but the comment may have been deleted. Ah well! Planning a trip to the UK? It's an interesting place, inevitably I take it for granted and moan about it because it's home. I'd research the trip carefully. London's great but it's busy and expensive. There are beautiful parts and Scotland especially Edinburgh and the Western Highlands (busy in summer) are superb.
Work colleagues and friends used to ask if I'm a secret millionaire, the truth is we live in a modest house, buy cheap cars and don't spend our money on 'stuff'. There's no pockets in a shroud, we want memories to grow old with, not things. Some of the holidays are quite flashy and pricey, but most aren't as we take advantage of cheap flights. We look for bargains on booking.com and, if the weather's nice enough, we camp in the UK in summer. The aim of this blog is to share anecdotes from our trips and ideas about destinations. I hope you like it and thanks for looking.... full info
