The day started rather badly, I blame my wife for this. She is a nervous flyer and insisted we stay up drinking late the night before so that she could sleep on the plane. Work colleagues and friends used to ask if I'm a secret millionaire, the truth is we live in a modest house, buy cheap cars and don't spend our money on 'stuff'.
