Hi Kirsten, we hope you are hanging in there. The good thing is that there is an end date in sight and the posting is not permanent :-) Hope the field work is going well and that you are getting to prove or disprove some theories. Look after yourself. Love Sue and Tony xx
Thanks Guys Thanks, glad you like the blog, I like writing them. I can sympathise about being depressed going back to work. I'm trying to figure out how I can do this AND get paid for it full time! Except that the kids would probably have something to say about it!
Spirits High Hi Kirsten
I am thinking of you keenly over there now John is back. I missed your call keep your chin up some results will always be better for your model than none!
It looks like you are really making friends! I heard on the radio they have caught Pol Post 2nd 3rd and 4th in command but not sure what will happen now as many of the old Khmer Rouge generals now in the legal system in Cambodia - such a short time of hell and a long time to recover - if ever.
I feel happy you can do something for the country with your predictions of arsenic great stuff
take care
Love Cxx
It's been fun! I'm really glad you've enjoyed the blogs. It's been fun sharing! The challenges are not over yet! Still looking around for a reputable lab and my second field site is proving problematic to find (access issues).
Will keep you updated!
Cheers,
Kirsten
you know the drill Hiya Here's to a productive week for you. Sounds like you are having your fair share of challenges. So great that you can be experiencing all the 'fun' together. Love reading your blogs. Will you want to come back to your old life in Oz when all this is finished, we wonder ? Look after yourselves xx
Work? Inspiring stuff! It looks like you are settling in well I love the house - eek it seems so freaky you are so far away in such a foreign place but some things stay the same. I wonder when the real work starts? Enjoy the rains and the cat Love Cxx
Hi Hi guys.
Just checked out your blog for the first time. Looks like your settling in. Great you have your own place - I'm sure it won't take long to make it home. Bet your missing the kids.
Alls good here. Cold, typical August winds. bring on Spring I say - looking forward to getting into the garden now the days are getting longer.
Study going well. Got some good exam results that I'm happy about. Only 2 terms to go!!! Yeah! Have got some new clients too so things are slowly coming together.
Take care guys. Great to follow your travels and the photos are teriffic.
Love Annie
Love your house!!! Thanks for all the photos. I love the house. It will look great with furniture. Reminds me of Patty's house in Bangkok. Seems you are settling in really well. Sorry you have a bad cold, probably caused by a bit of stress at moving etc. Will you be employing a housegirl?? Much to hot to be doing housework!! Sarah is still here, doing her assignments on line which is good. It's cold and windy her today, I would rather be in the heat where you are. Your father flies to Adelaide on Sat and then doing a trip to Lake Ayre.
Sarah and I Hi Kirsten and John,
My computer is giving me a lot of problems at the moment so am writing to you from my computer at AZ. On Sunday afternoon Sarah and I drove to your house. Sarah wanted to go for a drive and really wanted to see where you lived. I phoned Owen at the house and on his mobile before we left home but couldn't contact him. So we drove there anyway. Sarah really loved the area and your house. We had a cuddle with the Pye and he hopped into my car and almost went to sleep on the back seat. While we were there we saw some ripe tomatoes so picked them and also picked some snow peas and parsley. Hope you don't mind. We made a lovely salade. Driving back from your house we saw 4 rabbits. Yesterday we drove to Bondi and did some shopping and had lunch near the beach. It was a lovely day. Today is freezing and raining. Sounds as though you are meeting some really interesting people. Must be great. Have fun!!
LOL, Mum, Dad and Sarah. XXX
Thanks for the update. Hi Kirsten and John,
Many thanks for this update. It all looks wonderful! You are so lucky to be in a hot climate. I envy you. Sarah arrived last night so we are catching up. Ross picked her up from the airport and came in and had dinner with us all. He loved my Israeli CDs and wants Sarah to copy them all for him. I phoned Lachlan on Friday and he was waiting for the bus to take him home. Sarah and I will take the boys out next weekend.
LOL Mim XX
Can't wait to share this experience with you Can't wait for you guys to come over. You will love it. There is a Khmer called Dah who is an avid photographer (he's really good) and I told him about Lauren so they should get on well. His english is really good too.
Love,
K

How is it??? Hi there Kirsten and John,
This is the second message I have sent you on the blog but don't see my message with all the others. I hope the flights were comfortable and the service was good. How are your first few days in Cambodia? Do you like your house? You will be enjoying the warmer weather. It's really cold here today, coldest day this winter.
LOL, Mum XX
grettings from oz hi guys,
good to hear you're settling in well, you both look and sound relaxed. I guess a big part of the trip is the organising and getting there, well thats done so enjoy yourselves - I know you guys are in your 'happy place'. Take care and look forward to hearing from you soon xx Julie
Sorry, Larry but its a bit late for dinner now! Anyway keep checking the blog and we'll keep in touch that way. Or download skype and we can talk to each other over the net for free!!! PS The thai restaurant in Glenordinary is very, very ordinary (we walked out). I would rather a home cooked meal any day!
Cheers,
Kirsten
Missing you already Hi Kirsten and John,
Your father received your blog address in a text
from John this morning so am just trying it out. Such a great idea!! You only need to make the one entry for everyone instead of many emails. It will be a super way to keep in touch. Hope you enjoyed the flights.
Lots of love, Mum XX
Leaving soon Hi Kirsten and John,
Hope you had a great party on the 17th. Sorry we missed it. Now you have to eat this week. Can we catch at the Club or the Glenorie Thai for a quick meal and goodbyes??? I am having my brother and his family tonight for dinner (Tues). I don't mind feeding you all at my place either. Let me know if any night works for you.
Larissa
