Hello Looks like a great holiday. I am currently in New Zealand with my friends, Andrea and Ray. We arrived in Auckland and then up to Paihia. Had to stay there 4 nights instead of 2 because of cyclone and so missed out on Coromandel. Enjoyed a couple of nights in Rotorua and now in Napier. Heading to South Island next week.
Take care, Vicki xx
Hi there, looks like a great time was had by all. I will be in London from 6 August - just a few days and then we leave on 10th and head to Ireland. Not sure if we will have a chance to catch up. Will investigate your address with where we are staying and what else we plan to do. Hopefully one day we will go to Greenwich but nothing else definite has been planned. Hope you are all well and I will be in touch. Vicki xx

Whats happening in Melbourne... Great to see the holiday pics!!I always like reading what you guys are up to, even though we met briefly 8 years ago!!!I dont know if you are on Facebook, but I have lots of photos on there if you want to have a look.As you may know there are the 4 of us.Julie , Josephine, Daniel and me,,....Josephine is talking more and more with greater vocabulary each week.Danny boy is still gaa gaa, but hums twinkle twinkle a lot!he is now walking around.Julie is looking at starting a business similar to "Wallfry"...google that and you will have the idea...its kids art via computer that you order and we post..still a long way to go though! Julie is now finally an Aussie Citizen!!! (Yes, ha ha ...she had to have a lobotomy to come down to our level!)..I have now filled out the passport papers, and ALL she has to do is to get 2 passport photos.....THIS seems to be difficult!!!As you may know Czechs can NOW have dual citizenship...only as of the start of this year...she couldnt before ...but to have an Aussie passport will be such a help...no more VISA re-applies for Oz and NZ!!My work is going cruisy...good money and very liberal for what time spare I have...also can work from home, which really is a bonus...ie: on weekends, a 15 minute session at home can save 2 hours if it was normal work time and I didnt get my field jobs till I got to the office. Steve would appreciate this, our central heating (gas) doesnt work...first time fired up since 8 months ago...over easter, I have learnt how the WHOLR freakin thing works!!!HOPEFULLY its down to the 240V AC// 24V AC transformer that (I hope) has died...if so, then its a replacement Transformer..otherwise its the gas valve regulator...and as Steve would appreciate...a 40 year old model is going to be hard to get replacements!!! thats it for now...always good to hear from you...remember FB....it has a running display of whats happened in our lives! Marty
Lovely pics Hi Steve and JO, took 5 attempts to log in to your site on my laptop cause it flips from windows 8 to 7! Anyhow finally read this this morning. Trying to skype but you not online...I have very bad back, sciatica and on medication...hope to meet up today with cousins from Oz and cousin in Auckland I didn't know I had....hope your winter ends soon... love Mum
Boy, are you gonna get LOOOOTS of replies! Gday over there in cold land!!! Freakin HOT over here in Melbourne at the moment ..over 40 degrees celcuis for the whole week! You may know we have had a boy daniel now...2.5 years old..cant wait til he is older to get out of the crying at night EVERY NIGHT stage and needs either Mum or dad there till he drifts off! Josephine is good now at nights. She is speaking Czech and english and is amazing how she converts what she just says to Julie and then turns to me and says it in English! Is that the same with your twins?Only a short holiday (1 week) this year at Mt Beauty (Victoria) this year.we had it good last year with 4 weeks in Tasmania...the last 3 days i think was JUST a bit too long!! we split it in half camping and half units/accomodation...I think the dodgiest was at Zeehan...a caravan that had a leaking sink...into the caravan itself!!I got bogged at King Lake!!!I juuuuust decided to turn around when I think I was going to get bogged if I continued on the waterfront track, when BANG!! sunk in mud/sludge...up to the axles!!!!I had a winch(i have a Toyota Hilux twin cabin 4WD)...but no anchor point in direct line!!!! had to zig zag winch on trees I could find....If you use Facebook, then search Marty Felber......If you are on FB then friend me and you can get to see heaps of pics of our travels! We are still in Rowville, Melbourne. Julies contract didnt get renewed in August(just 6 weeks back from maternity leave), so now she is full time mum...she is going to start a graphic online selling "wall paintings" ..google a place called wall fry http://www.wallfry.com.au/ its something similar to this site, but Julies artistic skills are much better than what this site offers.i am off next week on my annual fishing Mecca up in the high country around Omeo, but its NOTHING compared to the wonderful fishing experiences of NZ south island!!!!Julie went mid last year to Czech for 6 weeks and I stayed here. I managed to get over to tassie for 10 days and that was great by myself...hiking..sightseeing etc (cold mind you)..I had some adventures there on the hikes....I have done heaps in NZ but what troubles I got into in Tassie was amazing.....Got absolutely bush lost for 2 hours....lost my glasses(twig hooked onto my glasses on a tree and flinged them into the bush)...lucky I had a spare set!
almost would have died of hypothermia one night as I refilled my water bottle at night at a creek up on a plateau(the water source was only 70 metres from my tent).it was 4 degrees with wind blowing and FOGGY AS!!!i went out in boxers and tshirt to refill(as it had rained the WHOLE 5 HOURS whilst walking). lucky I took my GPS and marked the tent spot and water spot...it was literally like trying to find the tent from the water source with your eyes shut!!!!My head torch didnt pick up the tent until I was 10 metres from it!!!thats how thick the cloud was!!thats about it....We are getting to know a few people via a Czech community called Sumava up at Belgrave Heights area so thats good for both of us to meet new people! so I am gunna have alook at your other pics now .....see ya!
Hey! Hey Steve!
Well...news from CCC - things have changed quite considerably! Not sure you would probably know anyone here anymore - apart from the usual suspects - Gibbo, Catherine, Jo McAfee and Mel Smith. Most have either moved on or across to other companies.
Clare Revell and Maurice Dale eventually wed and now have a little girl. Clare is stil doing consents, while Maurice is now working for Boffa. Catherine Elvidge is still do the same. Ditto for Gibbo! Jo Price move back up to Auckland last year and is working for BECA. And Andrew Fitzgerald is working for Novo Group (formerly ViaStrada). As for me...well I finally married my partner, so surname has changed from Sargeant to Piper - quite good for our daugther and school! My daughter Eloise is now 8 - have no idea where the time went. Great to see pics of your twins - they have grown so much, and look like they are a load of fun, great age.
I'm not in consents anymore - ended up moving to District Planning Team to work on some plan changes, and then was asked to help out with the recovery of the central city. So now I'm in the urban regeneration team working primarily in the central city. Think my years here at Council really have helped out with getting things done - all those connections I gained!
Lots is happening here, as you can imagine - and there has been a major shuffle through the entire organisation with a new mayor and a majority new lot of Crs - all trying to make a difference! LOL. It's a completely different organisation from when you were here! Anyhoo....great that you are continuing to update this blog (cause I get the updates). All the best Steve!
Clare Piper (nee Sargeant).
hello hi there, good to hear from and glad that all is going well. I have sold my house and hope to move in about 6 weeks. I have been looking back at my diary and photos - can't believe that I was over there 2 years ago. Will hopefully get back to UK one day!! Love to all.
Hey Steve Wow, what a beautiful family you have. Just got your link sent through from Toby. Your lifestyle is very dream like.
I live and work on dairy farm, taught primary school for 8 years. No plans for family yet but I must admit that you make the idea look very good.
Pip is heading over to NZ in a couple of weeks with her little boy, I won't let her know how your flight with your little ones went as she is dreading it especially without her husband.
Yeah. Just wow.
Beautiful family Hi guys, just thinking about you yesterday, we got our Xmas card back that we sent to you last Christmas - obviously we don't have the right address. Sorry about that - glad to hear you had a nice Christmas in Poland (apart from the travellin drama). Next time I will just email. We are all well in Brisbane, and the weather here is glorious 15 - 25 everyday lately.
Aly moved out for a couple of months with her boyfriend, but is apparently moving back home again. Did anyone tell you that once you have kids you can never get rid of them, they just keep coming back home again. Maybe you should keep that small flat lol. Lizzie is at Uni now, studying to be a Midwife. She also says she is never moving out. They are great kids though - love them heaps.
Take care
Luv Angela
Merry xmas from nz Hi to you all, lovelly to see the photos of the kids and to see where you you are in the world. Hope you all have a lovelly christmas and new year. Thinking of you all, Love Diane Duffy
Sounds like things are tough over there at the moment. Economy/Riots/Weather etc.
How is the job (search?) going?.
The twins look very cute & happy so you are both doing something right.
A 15 hour drive with young children can\'t be fun. We toyed driving 10hrs to Sydney and decided it would be too much of a hassle with Amelia being 2 at the planned time.
All the best
Jeromie
Sunny europe Yes, it IS great weather there!! Julie and I were In Prague for 4 weeks and I just got back last week!!! Julie comes back friday with Josephine. We went up to Snezka a few weeks ago and it was in snow!! So I popped over to Poland whilst I was there!Loved the bath scene. Kids always fight over what they havent got(see timeslot 29 sec). what work are you trying to get? anything??
Christchurch Hey mate, great to hear London is having wonderful weather and the kids are hitting all the right learning curves! Things changed a bit here....new planners, others moving on, marriages etc. Sad about people you knew in Chch who have lost their lives...I've very lucky that I didn't know anyone who had died! crazy eh? Anyway, all the best and keep in touch! Clare Piper (nee Sargeant)
