Cool pics Hi Jess,
Thanks for sharing those pics of your adventures in India although I must admit I am somewhat suspicious of one of them in particular. In the picture you have titled "First Indian Meal" to the untrained eye is appears as though you are indeed partaking (spell?) in the traditional Indian cuisine. However, to the trained Latino eye, it is obvious that those are tortillas in the basket while your plate consists of the following: Refried Beans with Crema casera, Spanish or Saffron Rice, and Sweet Rice pudding and/or pastel de tres leches in another compartment. Furthermore, the gentleman behind you in a red shirt.....upon close inspection I can clearly tell that his shirt reads "ARMANDO'S MEXICAN RESTAURANT, PHOENIX ARIZONA" now how could a shirt from Armando's possibly make its way to Dehli....the world isn't that small. Aside from that picture the others appear to be legit and I thank you for sharing them.
But seriously now...thanks for sharing you look like you had a blast. Take care!
see ya when i return i´m in the rainforest right now with limited computer use when i can get to the nearest town that has electricity and phones
hope to see you when i return
if you need i can even treat you

Buen viaje en tu regreso HI Jess,
Just a quick note saying that I hope you're well and have a happy and safe return home. Take care and TTYL.

Helloooooo (a la g'ma) Hello, my sweet! I'm glad you had the opportunity to write a quick entry today ... I so look forward to reading about your adventures! But, maybe just a teensey bit more, I so look forward to getting your phone call to me tomorrow letting me know that you're safe and sound and back on terra firma. And this only because of the physical challenges you've had. Please take every opportunity to document every detail that's in your head right now ... with all of its color and vividness (is that a word?!) ... remember how you ate cat food at Alicia's in Germany in the middle of the night when you thought it was a box of dry cereal? Do you also remember that, at 13, I told you to write that story down and you would undoubtedly get some kind of literary recognition? Well, likewise with this trip. I saw a show yesterday afternoon (Canadian PBS station) where the guy was talking about blogging and how so many blogs have led to books. I really see potential here for yours. But even if not, all of us who love you enjoy every word of it! Thank you for being so considerate and giving to share all of these details with us!!! I look forward to your call!
Much love and adoration,
Mom

You Are So Brave! Jessica,
I am just in awe of your courage. Traveling alone through such a foreign land. You go girl! I will be staying in people's homes when I go to India in January, so my experience will be different, but I am loving hearing all about your extraordinarily colorful experiences. Can't wait to read more. And I'm sending much healing energy your way! Love and peace, Jody.
I am so grateful for your friendship! Hiya, Sweetheart.
I have so enjoyed hearing about your adventures, especially getting to see into your amazing perspectives. I look forward to reading more.Lotsa love, but, time for study.
Love, DeAnna
ET Phone Home ... er ... Mom phone India Hi, sweets!
I've phoned over the last hour and a half ... boo hoo ... you weren't back when I got through the first two times (the man who answered for the hotel took the message that your "mother" phoned -- did you get it?) and now I'm getting a busy signal (and have for almost an hour?). I'm wondering if they turn off the phones at night?
I'm so glad to have spoken with you earlier. You sound great ... you're learning and experiencing loads! Have a wonderful trip tomorrow ... sleep well tonight, my sweet one! I'll look forward to hearing from you through your journal entries (you know, you can make them short! :)) and any calls you get a chance to make.
Love,
Mom

Have you seen this website? http://reservations.bookhostels.com/
Select India, and then Dharamsala (are you still there?) ... and there's a $20/night Hotel India House that looks wonderfully nice. Just thought you'd like to know ... in case you didn't ... know, that is ...
Love,
Mom
Oh, my amazing daughter! Hello, sweetheart!
I've been agonizing every time you've phoned and I've missed a call from you! Please let me know where I can phone you or approximately when you'll be phoning again. Last night, at 12:15, I left the phone (ringer on) on the bed as I went down to the bathroom -- I was gone only a minute -- and when I returned, voila! There was the "missed call" message streaming across the screen. I yelled out "noooooooooo!" and then stayed up for two more hours -- partially out of frustration and disappointment (and I'm sure my blood pressure went up and then I was wide awake! :)) and partially in the hope that you might phone back. Oh, crud... How I miss speaking with you ... thank you so much for the messages ...
I just read your updates and can't decide whether to laugh or cry. Your literary wit is surpassed only by your phenomenal strength and ability to see the positive in every situation -- no matter how challenging and frustrating (hmmm... maybe I'll take lessons from you ... nope, I'm still frustrated that I keep missing your calls!).
I'm glad you found out about the allergic reaction -- Kat and g'ma are allergic to penicylin (sp?) and Aunt Kathi, Lora, and I are to sulpha. I had that same reaction a few years back -- my first time -- and, coincidentally, Aunt Kathi happened to be in town and, when she saw me, immediately advised me that I was having an allergic reaction to something (I don't think I even told her I was taking anything). We only just found out about Kat's allergy a couple years ago -- since you, Kat, and David were never on any antibiotics to speak of, we didn't really know of any. I don't know about allergies and/or sensitives on your dad's side.
Your adventure is an amazing one (no surprise, since you're such an amazing young woman) and I'm so glad (as I'm sure everyone else is) that you're making these journal entries for all to share! THANK YOU!
Love, hugs, kisses, (raiki from Eileen) and loads of good thoughts to you,
Mom

Happy Friday Jess! Hi Jess,
Good to hear your adventures are going well and that you are remaining incredibly optimistic despite the fact that you're not feeling 100%. I hope your health improves and that you continue to have fun and soak up the great experience of traveling through India. Take care and create a great day for yourself. JUAN
Pirates I'm gonna start adding raw egg to everything. OJ, Soy Milk, Dr. Pepper, Martinis, Sweet Tea, Bathtubs, certainly bourbon, Gatorade, anything really. The possibilities are endless. As per usual. You should know that this weekend i jumped out of a perfectly good airplane, and that it was the most fun. I don't even know what shingles are. I thought it was one of those things like scurvy that you didn't get unless you were a pirate. Wait a tick, no, i guess that does make sense then. You are a plunderer of ports near and far. Always have been. Can't wait for the food party you're sure to hold upon your return. More news and random bits later - Gway
Momo party How about a momo party for the Wisdom group? I seriously LOVE giving a dumpling party--I do dim sum, Chinese dumplings, but there isn't much difference. We could collaborate, whaddayasay? Loved your description of the Dog Bark Motel. I've stayed in some like that in Tibet.
Hey beautiful woman! You are so inspiring ... trekking halfway around the world, venturing on buses and taxis and such to known but unknown destinations, all the while with a case of the shingles!!
I didn't send ideas about how to treat this pesky ailment since you said so many medical folks are reading this blog - I do know it can take some time for them to fully disappear and that half of it can be managing the pain. Anything you can do to strengthen your immune system would be most helpful!! But I'm sure you've heard that!!
This travel blog thing is a grand way to stay connected - it's so "right now".... Thanks for sharing all the rich details - people you're connecting with, cooking, food, and cows and such! What a different world from the very usual things going on in Denver! I'm itching for a trip.... just discovered I have some 50 relatives in Ireland! And we've been exchanging emails, family details, etc. So that's in my future.....
Meanwhile I'm in "all the way" for the moment at least -- between staff for 4 more weeks (the Living a Created Event is less than 3 weeks away -- your ticket is on my desk; I figured I'd wait another week to mail it!), coaching the current program for 3 more weeks, and head coaching the program starting tomorrow... but I make sure I get myself to the club to exercise 3 times a week, have time with Rob, and stay caught up around the house! I look forward to the Event - for the new distinctions, the gathering of so many graduates in one place... AND... completing it with power and integrity!
Meanwhile... I send you my love and God's energy and light for continued healing, joys, and riches on your trip. xxoo Barb
Good thoughts... Hey Gorgeous! Wow - you are definately having an adventure aren't you? Sorry to hear about your last hurdle. Hey I know you will be fine and work out whatever you have to work out since that is what you do so well. Just so you know - you are in my thoughts and its all good! I am passing them along to you. Standing with you from afar...
Hi, Hon! I sent you a long e-mail this morning (so you can read that rather than my putting a bunch of stuff on the website, 'k?). I got your voice mail message and am eager to talk with you and find out how you're doing. Please phone at your earliest convenience, 'k?
Love and love and more love to you,
Mom
Ear Points Hi Jessica
As far as ear points:
Urticaria - on the external edge of the antihelix, parallel to the apex of the triangular fossa;
Shen Men - slightly superior to the apex of the triangular fossa within the fossa (think eye of the fish head);
Sympathtic Nervous System - at the juncture of the lower branch of the antihelix and helix, at the base line of the triangular fossa;
and Heat Drain - two fen lateral to the apex of the triangular fossa on the antihelix.
I would also use a draining or dispersing treatment on the meridian involved.
There is a possibility that you may find a Chinese herbal shop. If so, Long Dan Xie Gan Tang would be my recommendation. Write me off list if you need anything else. I'm envious of your current travel.

Hope you are well Hi Jess,
Thanks for sharing your latest blog entry. I am glad, yes goshdarnit GLAD that you made it safe and sound into India. I hope that your stay thus far has been everything that you imagined it would be. Also, I hope that your case of shingles doesn't interfere with your stay in India and that you are able to contain it with Antiviral drugs and/or another safe alternative treatment with which you feel comfortable. Take care and be safe. Hope u feel better soon.
abrazos.

YAY!!! Hi, my sweet! Oh, so great to hear from you! This is my first ever blog so bear with me, ye readers, since I don't know the cultural norms of such an environment. Anyway ... here goes ...
First, the mom in me must ask -- how' your ear and your hearing? What's going on? Second, where are you and where are you staying? Third, are you having a most incredible and amazing time? And, last, is there any chance you'll be able to phone or e-mail me to answer my non-stop questions. I'm going to g'ma's shortly -- to "do" her hair and to take over Church's chicken to her and grandpa. I was going to print out your blog and give it to her but, after the ear / hearing comment, I figure I'd better not. You know how concerned she'll get. But please do update your blog website and phone or e-mail if / when you can.
Tom and I just returned from up north late last night -- visited our friends on Pipe Island (check out pipeisland.com for photos and info), stayed in Mackinaw City for a rainy day, and drove down through Charlevoix to Traverse City and visited with Aunt Kathi, Mark, and a couple of BNI director friends who live up there. Tom even attended a BNI meeting with me on Friday morning! :) Today we went to the Lions game -- they lost -- bummer but no surprise. And tomorrow we're heading for the NASCAR race at Michigan International Speedway -- Tom's son-in-law Yogi got us special garage tour and "VIP" tent access -- free food and bevvies. That'll be cool. It's only the second race I've been to in person but with these perks, this is the way to go, eh?!
I'm gonna run now -- to get dinner to grandma/g'pa. Please keep in touch when you can!
Love to a most amazing and extraordinary individual, who just happens to be MY DAUGHTER!!!
Love, hugs, kisses,
Mom
