My plans have changed. Of course, what else is new? Anyway, I will be heading to Semuc Champey at the first weekend next month! Can't wait! I've really wanted to go there...it looks gorgeous in pics and I can't wait to see it for myself.
Ain't that the truth! I did see a 4 dollar box of Turkey stuffing...but for some reason, my mind seems to have drawn the line at chicken.
but, just to make it clear...no, I haven't had chicken. It's just all that I can think of. But, I've been smoke free for a couple of months now...which means, I can do this. I don't need chicken. (but my mind is screaming yes, yes I do!)
It has been a great experience already, yes. Different from Honduras and I still miss it there sometimes, but I'm adjusting pretty well to Guatemala I think.
No need to worry, I promise I'm being careful. I won't allow fear to keep me stuck in the house or anything, but I am well aware of the risks of being somewhere like this. Honestly though, things are great! I'm really happy.
As for sending me money, I promise I'm okay. I'll be sure to treat myself at the beginning of next month and buy that can of tuna. It's so sad that I have to wait that long, but that's also a part of life. There are people here with way, way worse problems than me, so I probably shouldn't complain so much!
I'll send you a message with the school's address on it though, in case you want to send a letter, or pass my address onto my Father. Although, it will take forever to get here...but I'm sure you already know that ;)
chicken Hi Janet, Well your journey seems to be quite an experience as you said, but Janet I think you have to be careful over there, you and the other girls, please watch your back because you are in a strenge Country. What happened to the Man you were interested in the last time you sent your travells??? Is that finished??? You seem to like him a lot or at least look forward to getting to know him better. A pretty girl like you should have no problem attracting men???? Maybe your attitude shows that I don't need you , but you need me or perhaps you just can't be bothered... Very glad to hear that you are settling in over there. Keep writing because you are so interesting the girls also, but please be careful, I cannot stress that enough. Hi to everyone, Luv Ya and take care of your self. Can I send you some money so you can buy that can of Tuna....Where do I send it??? Please let me know. Mammas
I absolutely adore my night class students. but, I do find it finally the mix of students I have. I'm not sure why they're learning Engllish. Probably to add to the other languages they know. They do know Italian, Q'echi and Spanish and now quite a bit of English...got me beat by a mile!
I'm tellin' ya...the hills here are ridiculous! But, at least I'm getting some serious exercise.
As for the excitement part, yes it's exciting, but sometimes not in a good way haha.
Semuc Champey was my FAVOURITE of all the places I went in Guatemala!
Funny stories... sounds like it's feeling more and more like "home" every day... in that weird "Central American" way! lol
Ahhh, memories... Janet,
all of your stories, from walking in the rain to find a bar to relentless men buying countless beers all bring back fabulous memories of Hondu... I love the piggy banks, hope I'm there to go to Livingston with you, i've heard a lot about it- although I think Sambo is a once in a life experience haha- let's make a skype date soon please. Oh and side note, there was shoe shiners in Hondu-- mostly in the market though- I don't think we really frequented them haha. Love the blogs. Makes me want to catch the next flight outta this forsaken place ahhhhhhh
Too funny about the guys and the beer....not one beer sent but 6! They were probably hoping that you would finish them off quickly and then they would be able to have their way with you! Oh my Janet the things you get yourself into...the pics with the guys and please make it look like we know each other....what exactly did you do that made it look like you were longtime friends? Love the pics of the piggy bank and it sounds like it will be an amazing vacay when you get the money saved up. Thanks for the laughs. OMG I forgot to remark on the sheets...I cannot believe you slept with someone elses cum on your sheets....that just floored me and made me howl! I was laughing so hard I almost fell out of the chair. The girls came in to ask me what was so funny and of course I coudln't tell them the truth so just said that you were telling jokes on here. Also the guy that sneezed on you I am surprised you didn't yell or choke the shit out of him. LOL
Wow nice pics...you want a work out all you have to do is those steps to the church everyday and that would be a work out in itself...mind you I sure as hell wouldn't be able to do it! LOL So you teach 2 priests...and what is it that you are teaching them English? I have a short memory you probably already told us in a previous blog. I see that Partying Janet is back in the flow of things. Party on girl!
My what an exciting life you live! At a bar where you notice someone pull a gun on another patron. As you try and get your friends to realize what is going on around them I personally would have been shitting my pants I am sure. So now that you have a bed what will you do with it when you come home...and the bedding will you try and pack it in the suitcase? Love the pictures of the city...looks amazing! Glad I do not have to walk up all those hills though as I would be done for as my knees are fucked to begin with. Glad your mood has changed for the better. Have fun and keep blogging!
I told her this morning. I think she was surprised that you happened to come across my blog. It´s a good way to keep up with what we´re doing. See you in April!
I think you are missing the K Block freaks that is why you are commenting on all of the beautiful people that you have encountered!=) Sounds like you are at *home* once again and that makes me happy!!! Keep the blogs coming!!!! Miss you Love you! =) =) =)
Peaceful and pleasant You sound like you're really getting into your groove and the school seems really supportive of you there. That's great! Quite peaceful and pleasant I have to say... without all the bureaucracy bs... that's awesome-- it looks beautiful as well. Miss you love ya
Of course I was thinking of you! I did manage to take a couple pics of gravestones. They may be near the end of the pics. You know that there are arrows to get to more right? haha.
I actually really enjoy my adult class. they are hilarious. And yes, sometimes they make me happying..just as I hope they are happying to be there lol.
